Had an interview today. They gave me an assignment style problem, build a deterministic layer that runs before the AI even gets involved, basically filtering and structuring the input so the model only handles what it actually needs to.
We then got into how a feedback loop on top of that could keep improving efficiency over time, the system learns which cases need AI and which don't, and gets better at routing that decision.
Interviewer was genuinely engaged, asking follow up questions instead of just listening.
That one conversation gave me more confidence than days of prepping alone.
If you're sitting on the sidelines, go give interviews. Even one good technical exchange is worth it.
Someone hacked our company's email system and used it to send fake government scam emails to thousands of strangers. We had no idea for weeks.
Found out because AWS flagged us and paused our email sending. Turns out someone had been quietly running a phishing scam through our setup the entire time
Still don't fully know how they got in. Could be anything at this point, that's the part that messes with me.
There was a warning sign a month before any of this blew up. We missed it completely. One unread alert and a month later we're cleaning up someone else's scam.
Still figuring out the how. Damage's already done though.
3 days. That's how long the most powerful publicly available AI model in the world lasted before the government pulled it.
The age of AI being treated like a national security export has officially started.
This one's going to be studied for a while.
The broader implication is wild though.
Any AI company can now have their model pulled overnight by a government directive, no written justification needed, no clear statutory process.
Anthropic literally said this doesn't "adhere to principles of transparency, fairness, and technical grounding."
