@lukeburgis @Airbnb @Airbnb is a nightmare. I moved a mattress during a stay, trying to work out why the bed was so uncomfortable. Whilst leaning against a wall, their junky PoS collapsed under its own weight. The host claimed against me for a top-of-the line mattress. So no sleep and a £400 claim

@lexfridman The idea that communism contains religious elements because of eg the veneration of relics is non-sensical. It’s like saying religion has hymns, so football is religious. IMO singing is innate human expression, and both religion and communism have co-opted to suit their purposes.

@CogRev_Podcast I enjoy your podcasts, but I am unable to hear @TheZvi about 20% of the time - he doesn’t enunciate clearly and there is a lot of echo in whichever room he is recording. If you are going to co-host long term, have you considered sorting the audio quality?

Really excellent episode from @MacroVoices, where @ErikSTownsend spoke to @energybants, about nuclear power. Learned so much about small modular & LFTR molten salt reactors, Diablo Canyon. Also got shoved towards the @DecoupleMedia podcast, and have been binging ever since

@puntofisso 2nd hand gravel bike - disc brakes, alloy frame, chunkier tyres and braze-ons for pannier. Ideally something that is a bit beaten up, to reduce chance of theft. But prob want secure parking most of the time. And decent lights / lock. Check the Fahgettaboudit lock.

Someone made a plugin to convert hardware description language to a factorio base layout. If we can just reverse the plugin, engineers will be able to produce hardware by playing computer games, and the cycle will be complete. github.com/Redcrafter/ver…

The word ‘grandiloquent’, meaning using flowery language to impress people is a mundane word while everyone uses it, but as usage drops, it becomes a self-justifying (autological) term i.e. using the word grandiloquent is itself grandiloquent.
