NTSB animation of the February 2023 near collision incident in Austin. Visibility was poor at the time of the incident and the FedEx aircraft was on a CAT III ILS approach. AUS has no surface detection equipment.

Once again, #SQ321’s descent from 37,000 to 31,000 feet occurred when the pilots began their initial descent to Bangkok, it was not caused by turbulence. Turbulence occurred approximately 15 minutes prior. Our full data set is available at flightradar24.com/blog/1-dead-do…
