UGH @SFBART says expect “20-25 min delay” for weekend maintenance work btn Union Station & South Hayward when it’s more than a 52 min delay! I’VE BEEN BAMBOOZLED. So this 1ish hr trip to SF is now like 3 hrs lmfaooo happy MDW 🫠

The Ktown patrol is on its fourth week and is starting to get recognized. Ktown resident Frankie Cardona said he was glad to see the volunteers. He’s been worried about a family member who’s Vietnamese and Latino and all his Asian friends.

The Ktown patrol, organized by @ProgressiveAPIs members, doesn't have any LAPD involvement. Aaron Chin says many Korean immigrants his parents' age would prefer to see community volunteers over police. He said his parents lost faith in police after the LA riots.

In Koreatown tonight, 50+ people walked the wide boulevards with the aim of deterring anti-Asian attacks. Community patrols sprouted up in NY & the Bay Area months ago. Efforts in LA have been slow to gain steam but that's changed after the Atlanta shootings.
