@kellabyte That’s how I look at some trading architectures that use a WAL in front of biz logic with, possibly custom, in memory data structures and snapshotting. I think of it as bespoke DB with embedded business logic. Probably a sin.

@davefarley77 The first time I got "syntax error" trying to write a program in basic in grade school. The desire to really understand what that meant drove me initially. That was the first time I heard the word syntax.

@runarorama Languages geared towards system programming tend to support unsigned types, etc. Languages for application development tend not to. Generally that’s the division/utility I see.
