It’s pretty obvious. The Medical Council has been a vital part of the apparatus the left has taken over to crush opposition by medical professionals to genderwang, institutional race privilege, the end of merit promotion and other left causes. Look no further than the draft Code requirements for ‘hauora Maori’ and ‘cultural safety and competence’ promoted by the Council, and the vicious penalties handed out to nurses who dare dissent publicly from the Hamas/Green line on Gaza. The appointment of two well qualified professionals (Dr Mulgan practises as both a lawyer and a medical doctor) plainly also committed to free speech and opinion for health workers, is a serious threat to the vile infiltrators who’ve been abusing powers to enforce health workers’ competence standards. Abetted by lawyers administering the oppression. Stuff has been committed to the left culture war project for many years. Minister Simeon Brown is one of the few Ministers who has dared interfere with the Wellington dominance of race and genderwang.

@paul_wilson_nz @drchrispook Non-trans youth are given puberty blockers for precocious puberty, an entirely different condition to gender dysphoria. It is incoherent to argue that because a drug is useful for one indication, it must be useful for a completely different indication.

The Post’s view at the time seemed to be that people with right of centre political views have questionable fitness to practice medicine because patients without those views might be treated poorly, or feel unsafe due to a perception they might be treated poorly. Therefore, it was potentially newsworthy that a medical professional was posting non-newsroom approved opinions pseudonymously on the Internet. There’s no evidence for that supposition, of course. If I was in intensive care, and David Galler in Northern Club infamy was treating me, I don’t think I’d feel the least bit uncomfortable. It’s been my experience that most people are very good at compartmentalising their personal views and professional conduct. Ironically, you would think the one group of people who would appreciate this would be mainstream journalists. And I wonder what it says about that vocation if that’s no longer the case.
