@DrDavidInDC @PunishedLink after a point and obviously by now the word has come to mean anti-Judaism. The point remains: many people only care about it when it serves to protect Israeli interests (and by extension US/EU interests). Call it by any name, Israel is one of the worst perpetrators of it today.

@DrDavidInDC @PunishedLink Germany did not have lots of Arabs in the 19th century, but it had a massive Jewish population - naturally they would be the disproportionate target of this prejudice, which is how it came to exclusively refer to Jews. Proto-Nazis used "Semitismus" interchangeably with "Judentum"
