Working on SEO for a fintech in an emerging market has given me a pretty interesting perspective on what the early days of SEO must have felt like. I helped them go after the major keywords in their category, and we've managed to rank for a huge portion of them. The interesting part is how little competition there is compared to what I'm used to seeing in more developed markets. For a lot of these keywords, there are only a handful of companies seriously investing in SEO. Once you figure out what Google wants, you can capture a huge amount of the search traffic and basically own the category. It made me realize how insanely valuable being early to SEO must have been and maybe still is. Imagine discovering a new channel where millions of people are searching for exactly what you sell, while almost nobody has figured out how to rank for it yet. SEO is still one of the most underrated acquisition channels for companies operating in markets where the competition hasn't caught up yet.

This is spot on from @AlexHormozi and I'm living proof. Not American. Picked up the accent in Call of Duty lobbies at 9 playing with American kids starting with all the cuss words. It's gotten me the best job offers, clients, even an Indian company hiring me to do their UGC videos purely because of the accent. Until people dive deeper and find out my afghani passport, then the treatment changes 😂

This is such a good question to ask If Coinbase isn't partnering with @ripdotfun or another similar team on Base, it doesn't just push builders away from Base. It creates resentment when the most successful products get copied by the company behind the chain. If you're a builder, you need to believe that being part of an ecosystem creates opportunities for you, not that your success eventually turns you into competition for the company running the ecosystem. Otherwise, what's the incentive to build in that ecosystem in the first place?

A lot of neobanks are losing big time hyper focusing on established markets and neglecting emerging markets. I've worked with an Afghan fintech and deal with a lot of businessmen from there and other who do upto 100k+ worth of transactions per month because they're running their businesses on these neobanks. While distributing @EthenaPay codes, I also realized there's a similar pattern here with other regions like Pakistan, Latin American Countries with folks running Meta and Amazon ads or online stores spending tons of money. Also ran into some folks who run large crypto communities in regions like Egypt and can be very helpful in distributing referral codes. The takeaway is to focus on distributing to businesses more than average day CT users if you're going to get real volume on your product and emerging markets make more sense because they're underserved and don't have proper banking.

Went down the rabbit hole today and turns out normies are getting wrecked every single day, losing a shit ton of money in the dumbest ways possible. Copy-paste errors. Lookalike addresses planted in your history so you send to a scammer by accident. Sending on the wrong network. Clicking a fake airdrop link. Signing something they didn't understand. Half a second of not paying attention, and it's gone forever. Crypto natives kind of shrug this off as the cost of self-custody. But for regular people coming in from TikTok and IG, nobody's teaching them this stuff. They find out the hard way. Part of me wants to go down the education route. TikTok, IG, and wherever else normies hang out, teaching people how to actually protect their assets before they learn the lesson with their own money. Not rushing into anything, but this might have opened a door I didn't expect. If you've lost funds to something like this, I'd like to hear your story.
