Dainik Bhaskar reports a scam of ₹1,160 Cr by Madhya Pradesh govt. Officials allegedly sold fortified govt rice bought at ₹4,000/quintal to ethanol plants for ₹2,320. Ethanol plants allegedly resold it to rice mills for ₹2,800, and bought broken rice for ₹2,100 for ethanol production. The mills then allegedly supplied the same fortified rice back to the govt as freshly milled stock while selling the original paddy in the open market. They allegedly did this with 50 lakh quintals of govt rice! Double engine 🫡🙏🇮🇳

In the egg-in-midday-meal debate, the most insensitive comments I’ve seen so far: “There is no malnutrition in 🇮🇳 .” “They can eat egg at home.” “Protein intake isn’t the government’s job.” I served on a school committee where 10-11-year-olds chewed gutkha to suppress hunger.

This is my father’s passport, issued in 1980, which unequivocally declares his “Nationality Status: Citizen of India.” The @MEAIndia’s vague and incoherent claim that a passport copy is “just a travel document” is a senseless, self-defeating act. It not only damages the Ministry’s own credibility but actively undermines India’s passport and its global standing. This kind of ambiguity weakens rather than strengthens our passport’s reputation and ranking.

As an Indian millenial it is hard to believe that as kids, our tv had PSAs asking us to eat eggs. Look at how far we have come.
