Plan mode. Does anyone know someone that still uses plan mode? Asking the model to plan into a file, or just planning in the chat is a lot better, no need for a specific mode for that

Amodei is naming a real problem! It is strange that the most powerful systems are trained inside a handful of private labs. A government “stake” is one answer. From where we sit at Alysis AI, it is not the only one. We keep coming back to a split this debate skips: who trains the weights vs who owns the agent that uses them We build the second layer in the open. That does not make frontier models safe. It does make it harder for one company to own both the model and the way the model gets used. That distinction is the part we think the timeline should hold onto!
