First known US case: American charged for using a “duress” password Samuel Tunick, an Atlanta resident, is being prosecuted for allegedly giving border agents a passcode that wiped his phone. The feature comes from GrapheneOS, a privacy-focused Android OS. Entering the duress code triggers a full factory reset. This is believed to be the first time federal prosecutors have brought such charges. The incident happened in January 2025 at Atlanta airport. Agents demanded access to his phone without a warrant, saying he hadn’t yet officially entered the US. When they entered the code, the phone wiped itself. Tunick has pleaded not guilty. His lawyers argue the seizure was unlawful and that agents were investigating his activism against “Cop City.” The case raises big questions about digital rights at the US border. What do you think? At 452 Research we’ve decided to build a quantitative trading research system where EVERYTHING is an expression. Literally everything is composed of something else. I didn’t think we would try this approach right now, but I think it’s the right next step. And it’s something that I’ve wanted to build for a VERY long time. An Abstract Syntax Tree (AST) is a tree representation of an expression or program where each node represents an operation and each leaf represents a value (constant, variable, function parameter, etc.).

Long story short, I’m sitting on a universal jailbreak technique that’s effective on ALL models, including heavily guardrailed flagships like Opus 5, GPT-5.6 Sol, and even Fable. It works across all categories I’ve tested and, due to its nature, is extremely difficult (if not impossible) to fully patch. Gotta love tech debt. We started building our strategy finder application at the speed of light and we may have used some duct tape. After all, it was an experiment that turned out to work way better than expected. Here we are cleaning code up and making the code base stable.

Following the amazing reaction to the Marble Curriculum yesterday, we've decided to make it open source 🛰️👇 Everything a child learns in primary school. 1,590 concepts. 3,221 connections across 8 subjects, from Math and Science to Computing and Life Skills. Anchored in the US and UK curriculums, standard by standard (NGSS, Common Core, DfE). What you will find in the repo: every concept as structured JSON with its age band and the evidence a child must show to master it. Every prerequisite link marked hard or soft, with a written rationale. It's a true DAG you can compute learning paths on. Open license, you can build whatever you want with it. Now is a unique time in history to be building in education. Getting AI and kids education right is likely one of the hardest and most important problems to crack over the next decade and we need as many smart and creative minds behind it. We think a common solid basis, accessible to all and that can be built upon, is critical to move fast. That's why we're making this curriculum open source. Proton is now publicly calling Windows spyware over the Global Device ID that Microsoft uses for every Windows installation. They say users never consent to the GDID, can't remove it, and that reinstalling Windows only partially helps since Microsoft keeps the old records. The company found exactly one mention of the identifier in all of Microsoft's public documentation. Every Windows installation carries a Global Device ID that Microsoft can hand to law enforcement, and a federal complaint against an alleged Scattered Spider hacker just showed it defeating a VPN. Per the FBI affidavit, Microsoft records tied one GDID to the creation of an ngrok account used in a May 2025 jewelry retailer breach, then gave investigators the device's full IP history. Cross-referenced against the suspect's Apple, Snapchat, and Facebook logins, the VPN didn't matter.

Here's the update on the migration. Basically we'll update the entire flow that we used to have using markdown files and bash scripts. Just to name a few, we'll soon be using Postgres, Temporal, LangChain, Phoenix, Zod, Docker, Typescript and Python instead. We're completely overhauling memory persistence and agent coordination. I guess you can’t ask for it all. I think the refactor is half way there. To be honest, it wasn’t a refactor, it’s a complete architecture and infrastructure change.
