@clivehbest @AndrewDessler Never said it wasn't safe, although I'm not sure how palatable the Chernobyl exclusion zone would be mapped onto the UK. Saying nuclear costs will come down is a triumph of optimism over experience. 5.25% base rate? Who has the appetite to fund it?

@clivehbest @AndrewDessler I don't think you are doing your credibility much good by claiming that we need an 'equal capacity of gas power available' when the closure of our coal fleet and a net reduction in gas capacity have accompanied our wind build out. There are plenty of tools in the box.

@AndrewDessler @clivehbest I don't have the paper, but I saw a presentation at a conference about 16-17 years ago by one of the Fraunhofer institutes that was an analysis of day ahead wind forecasting which showed that the German grid can predict within 3%. Probably better now. So no 'sudden lulls'.
