What's Coming with the DAG Layer? When people think about blockchain performance, they usually think about higher TPS or lower fees. But those are outcomes, not architecture. One of the biggest differentiators is the consensus architecture. From the beginning, we chose to build on a Proof-of-Work Directed Acyclic Graph (PoW DAG) because traditional linear blockchains naturally introduce bottlenecks. In conventional architectures, transactions compete for inclusion in a single sequence of blocks. As network demand increases, this serialized model creates contention, limits throughput, and increases confirmation latency. A DAG fundamentally changes this model. Instead of forcing every valid block into a single linear chain, multiple blocks can be produced concurrently and incorporated into the ledger. Rather than discarding honest work as orphaned or stale blocks, the protocol preserves those blocks within the graph before establishing a deterministic ordering of transactions. This reduces wasted work, improves resource utilization, and enables the network to scale more efficiently without compromising consensus correctness. Building this, however, is far from simple. A high-performance DAG introduces challenges that traditional linear blockchains rarely encounter. Parallel block production requires solving problems such as partial ordering, graph traversal, pivot chain selection, transaction dependency analysis, conflict resolution, and deterministic state execution across a distributed network. Consensus itself becomes significantly more sophisticated. The protocol must efficiently evaluate graph weights, validate graph ancestry, establish a deterministic global ordering, and maintain Byzantine resilience under adversarial network conditions while preserving network liveness. Synchronization is equally demanding. Nodes must reconstruct portions of the DAG, reconcile missing graph segments, process snapshot synchronization, validate graph integrity, and recover state efficiently without compromising consensus correctness. These are not problems that can be solved with shortcuts. They require rigorous testing, continuous protocol validation, and constant refinement of the networking, synchronization, execution, and storage layers. That is why many of our recent development updates have focused on synchronization improvements, graph validation, recovery mechanisms, protocol hardening, and expanded test coverage. These are not isolated optimizations. They are foundational components of making a DAG-based Layer 1 operate reliably at scale. Performance is never the result of optimizing a single component. It emerges from the interaction of consensus, networking, synchronization, the execution engine, storage, and state management. That is what we continue to build. Not just a faster blockchain. A fundamentally different architecture designed to scale without sacrificing security, decentralization, or reliability.

Mazze Agent is an open-source tool designed to help AI systems understand and interact with the MAZZE ecosystem. Whether it's retrieving blockchain data, interacting with the network, or serving as the foundation for more intelligent workflows, it represents an important step toward AI-native blockchain experiences. Mazze Agent is the first iteration of a larger vision. We are also working toward deeper integrations and expanded capabilities that will allow AI agents to do far more within the ecosystem. Happy June, Mazzians! 🎉 While it may have looked like things were moving slowly, work has been happening behind the scenes. Progress may not be at the pace we initially hoped for or what the community expects, but we are moving forward. Step by step, update by update, we are getting closer to the future we envision. Being as transparent as we are Over the past few weeks, we have continued pushing updates to our GitHub repository, giving anyone interested the opportunity to follow development as it happens and even test the chain locally. We have also been working on something beyond the code. A new look and feel. One that better reflects where we are headed, and the long-term vision we are building toward. There is still work to do, but progress is real, and we are excited to share more with you in the weeks ahead.

Following the latest update, we wiped and restarted the test chain multiple times to simulate different scenarios and further strengthen network stability. These resets were intentional and part of our final testing phase to ensure the system performs reliably under varying conditions. Alongside this, we implemented several significant improvements to the codebase. Sync has been upgraded to protocol v4, introducing support for snapshot and epoch-hash messaging. This upgrade improves request and response validation, enhances local database header recovery, and smooths catch-up phase transitions. We have also strengthened snapshot and state-sync error handling to improve resilience during synchronization. In addition, several consensus and txpool panic paths have been removed, reducing the risk of unexpected failures. RPC transaction submission has also been improved. Invalid internal states will now fail explicitly rather than returning a false or misleading success response, ensuring more accurate and predictable behavior. These updates represent another step toward a more stable, reliable, and production-ready MAZZE network.

Behind the scenes, the team has been deeply focused on development. After multiple cycles of breaking, testing, and refining, we are approaching a major milestone. We are now preparing the resources for a live demonstration of MAZZE’s Private Transaction capability, which will showcase how users can deposit, transfer, and unshield funds while keeping sensitive information hidden, without compromising network transparency or security. The groundwork laid in the month of february moves MAZZE closer to making privacy a first class feature on the blockchain. We are marching foward and we are $MAZZE.
