Standard Selfish work from Higgins there. That kick is clearly for Sharman & hitting him in the clear on the chest. Very rarely chases out of the forward line. Until he plays team first football we’ll not improve up forward

Personally don’t mind players being booed especially when they leave a club and choose a competitor, all theatre. Carey copped it for years as people disliked him, champion player every club wanted. People are going to be understandably angry, personal abuse not on though

@dtodd86 Lots of clubs will improve, others will go backwards. Free agency will ensure the top 8 sides will largely be the same. Nobody is going to leave a top club to play in a bottom 6-8 club. 11 of the 23 that played yesterday have their best years 24-29 year age ahead of them

@s_d_mcintyre @Michael_60 Games are won & lost in the midfield. We have holes back & forward, absolutely. You don’t use high picks for key position players, you go poach them when the midfield is ready. It’s what Melbourne did with Lever & May. Hawks 2013-15 poached big blokes. McEvoy, Hale, Lake etc

@s_d_mcintyre @Michael_60 Not this season. Main priority is development of a midfield. Clearly happening, Garcia has improved, Hall, Wilson even Nas. Players who were just good (Ross, Crouch, Gresham, Steele, Billings) Battle (gun) have been let go from 2023 side. Others too. Our future are 1-5 year

@Michael_60 Those years went the wrong way about it. We didn’t develop a 19-25 years old midfield. We tried to plug holes around the edges in 2020. It’s an 18 team comp now with free agency, good players rarely go to bottom clubs. Just need to be patient as Freo were finishing 14th in 2023

We’ll see if the is a “mass exodus”. The depth comes from Travaglia, Tauru, Boxshall, Dobson & other players drafted end of season. 2m a season will be the new big player number with Tassie about to come in. Sides will need to pony up to keep elite players. We’re miles away still

@archerroberts9 I believe we’re much better than last season. % is better, won more quarters & won more games most likely. Exited Steele out. Our midfield is all under 25 years old. We came up a seasoned, mature, big bodied strong team. They needed to fire to beat us. Patience, it’s coming
