Ontario’s MLITSD announced the launch of Canada’s first Occupational Exposure Registry. It includes an online portal with a voluntary “self-tracker” that enables workers to submit, track, and keep a record of their individual exposures to 11 designated hazardous substances in the workplace throughout their career. WSIB POLICY UPDATE: The WSIB has revised Policy 15-03-13, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder in First Responders and Other Designated Workers. Ontario has introduced Bill 105, the Protecting Ontario’s Workers and Economic Resilience Act, 2026, which proposes the following changes: - An increase in LOE benefits from 85% to 90% of the difference between a worker’s pre-injury and post-injury net average earnings - Entitlement to LOE benefits beyond the age of 65 if the worker can establish that they likely would have continued working - Elimination of the 72-month lock in and setting of the maximum threshold on total income a worker can receive from LOE benefits and other sources - Extending mandatory coverage for workers in Residential Care Facility or Group Home Contact the OEA at [email protected] if you have questions about the potential impacts and as we continue to monitor the Bill’s progress. ola.org/en/legislative…
