Today, I joined the good people of Osun State to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the creation of our dear state. Thirty-five years ago, our people stood united in a historic and determined quest for an identity that would reflect and preserve our rich history, heritage and aspirations. Today, we remain proud of the remarkable heritage of Osun and the resilience, enterprise and ingenuity of her people. However, the realities confronting our state today demand sober reflection on the need to rekindle and pursue the dreams and aspirations of the founding fathers, whose selfless sacrifices and unwavering commitment made the creation of Osun State possible. As we mark this anniversary with due moderation, I sincerely appeal to our people to dedicate prayers to the continued peace, growth, progress and development of our dear state. As a people, we are at a defining moment when our collective commitment to the advancement of Osun must not be sacrificed on the altar of self-interest, mediocrity, malfeasance or gross incompetence in the management of our common patrimony. We must leave no stone unturned in collectively redefining our path towards sustainable socio-economic development, inclusive prosperity and genuine transformation, in keeping with the vision and aspirations of our founding fathers. We owe it to the generations before us, those of today and those yet unborn to build an Osun that fulfils the promise for which our state was created. Consequently, I heartily rejoice and celebrate with the good people of Osun State, particularly our fathers (both those who have transitioned and those still with us) whose courage, sacrifices and perseverance contributed immensely to the struggle for the creation of our dear state. May Osun continue to prosper. Amen.

Oyebamiji said "there's every cause to celebrate the creation of the state" regardless of socioeconomic and political challenges confronting it at the moment. AMBO also called for calm, unity and peaceful coexistence as the leadership of his party, the All Progressives Congress APC commenced technical, physical review and assessment of the gubernatorial election. Oyebamiji in a statement made available to newsmen on Thursday, in commemoration of the state's anniversary, appealed to the residents of the state to see the anniversary as a period of sober reflection in the collective desire to actualise the vision and mission of the founding fathers. He specifically urged the citizens and residents of the state to dedicate prayers and supplications for the advancement of the state. "This is a period of sober reflection on the need to realize the dreams and aspirations of our founding fathers in whom selfless efforts the creation of Osun was made possible. As we celebrate with moderation, I want to sincerely appeal to our people to dedicate prayers for the continued growth, progesss and development of our dear state. "As a people, we are at a period where our avowed commitment to the upliftment of our dear state must not be sacrificed on the altar of self-centredness, mediocrity, malfeasance and gross incompetence at the helms of affairs. We must leave no stone unturned to collectively redefine our path to progress, sustainable socioeconomic development and genuine transformation as espoused and dreamt by our founding fathers. "I heartily rejoice and celebrate with our people particularly our fathers (transitioned and alive) that fought for the creation of our dear state", Oyebamiji said.
