@ffiarpg @manchatz @EOEboh In principle sure, it’s “best practice”. But in reality, when would you run into a situation where x86_64 vs arm64 had any practical impact? If you’re writing drivers or kernel-level software, sure. But if it’s otherwise 99% identical it makes more sense to prioritize DevX.

@manchatz @EOEboh Unless you’re hand-writing literal asm, who cares whether your dev architecture matches your server architecture? Also, Macs are Unix - wouldn’t that make them closer to a Linux environment for all practical purposes?

@lemire @FFmpeg What’s your proposal? Only disclose after a fix ships? Irresponsible. Mandate that a patch accompanies a report? Report rates plummet. Good actors publishing vulnerabilities burdens the maintainers, but also expedites fixes and disempowers bad actors.
