The minimum entry point on getting Carlson signed, no matter where he lands, is 2 x $10 M. There are other teams with interest who still want to get involved July 1 if Carolina doesn’t sign Carlson before then. Tampa? Boston? Philly? Having said that, the Cup champs I think are

No doubt, $4.82m is friendly money for a 3C at his prime. But Jesperi Kotkaniemi needs to prove he can handle this role. He had 43 points and $4.5m level in 2022-23. But then he was on pace for 28-34-17 points and played at $2.5-3.3-2.8m level #SoundTheSiren

To be clear, Carolina is actively seeking to trade Kotkaniemi now. With rising cap, $4.8 million for a 3C will be the new norm, so he is seen as a player with trade value considering there are so few centers available. They’ll wait til that materializes. But no buyout.
