Feeling truly let down. After months of trying to resolve what should have been a straightforward wedding insurance claim, I’ve been refused a payout - despite my cancellation being the result of involuntary job loss outside of my control. The insurer, White Horse Insurance Ireland dac via Wedinsure, has repeatedly quoted small-print technicalities that were never made clear at the point of sale. They’ve rejected the claim on the basis that I didn’t meet a two-year employment clause buried in their definition of “redundancy” a detail I believe no reasonable consumer would expect to disqualify genuine job loss. I’ve now escalated this to the Financial Ombudsman and am exploring further action, as I believe this reflects a systemic failure in fair treatment and a potential case of mis-selling. I’d like to hear from others - has anyone else had a claim denied by Wedinsure or White Horse Insurance for similar reasons? At a time when emotional distress and financial uncertainty were already high, this experience has made things significantly worse.
