Reporting from… Liepaja 🇱🇻 Big things in motion at Clinked.com lately and I can’t wait to share more on that soon. For now, it’s flying between offices, plenty of catch-ups… and a pattern of rain I’m starting to take personally.
Isn’t it wonderful how some of the biggest cultural transformations begin with such simple things – like finally having a door you could close?
• Coffeehouses helped invent public debate. In the 17th and 18th centuries, coffeehouses started popping up across cities like London. Merchants, sailors, writers and lawyers all sitting at the same tables arguing about politics and philosophy. People called them “penny universities.” For the price of a coffee, you could walk in and debate the future of the country.
One of the thinkers who pulled me into psychology and philosophy during my college years passed away yesterday. And it sent me down memory lane, so sharing a few strange historical details from #Habermas’s work that fascinated me back then:

You might be the ceiling your growth keeps hitting. At some point, building a company has to move beyond how much you, as the founder, can personally carry or control. This takes most founders a long time to accept: teams exist, so you don’t have to be good at everything, or everywhere or all the time. But here's the catch: when you build with people and let go of control, some things will certainly go wrong. That’s part of the deal. What matters is whether they feel safe enough to own it, talk about it, and learn from it. Because only then, in five years, will they be so good at what they do, you'll wonder how you ever operated without them.
This was THE hardest lesson I’ve had to learn in the early days of building @clinked 👇 When you’re a founder, it’s natural to want to keep your hands on everything. But it's also very costly. Though it feels terrifying at first, delegation is allowing someone else to shape your business, improve it, and sometimes even break it on the way to doing it better.
