@elonmusk UBI is simple. Robots paid at minimum wage - that money and payroll taxes, etc. go to UBI. Wages are taxed and paid as individual income to IRS. No disruptions.

Watching the debate - want to save Social Security for all of us W2 workers? Eliminate the stepped up cost basis. When you’re very wealthy and mom and dad passed away and you sell their Rembrandt or Monet, or their Long Island beach home - you pay no tax. Baby Boomers are literally going to pass their gains to their kids who will sell with no tax. I agree 100% you should be able to inherit your family home or business, but this is for those that cash out while their parents corpse’s are still warm. How about the capital gains get taxed and go into Social Security? The law today only taxes those of us that actually work and contribute to society and GDP. Stop increasing the wealth division and please protect the same Social Security that our employers used as the reason to eliminate our pensions last century. We make those payments every year. Stop helping the wealthy to create idle rich children and grandchildren. Stop increasing the wealth gap and historic inequities. We literally revolted against the UK for this.

The risk of AI as embodied when we play with self-replicating automatons - the Creeper from 1971 would be devastating in the real world if it grabbed Carbon, Iron, or Silicon or other common elements. @elonmusk the intersection of self-replicating automatons and AGI is what we need to regulate and pause immediately.

@TeamPelosi Why not slowly eliminate income tax and replace it with a system of asset transfer taxes? The tiny fractional rate (~.0001%) could be applied to equities, bonds, derivatives, capital, inheritance and loans and generate ample revenue without hitting those of us actually working.
