Salvation is for free for everyone, but following Jesus requires a decision. At some point you have to go all in. There’s no fence sitting when it comes to Jesus.

Had someone just say that they believe far too many pastors are narcissistic empire-builders. They crave power, platforms, and money more than they care for the actual people in their congregations. I get understand his sentiment. In this age of media at our fingertips 24 /7, most people will only see the mega church/celebrity pastors. But I always want to remind people that the majority of churches in America avg 60-100 members. And the vast majority of pastors draw little (or no) salary and are bi vocational with many working 40 hour jobs away from the pulpit. They care only about winning souls to Jesus, caring for their flock and spreading the gospel.

When my left I became single dad to 3 boys. She moved away and has never been in their lives (long story). I had no financial help from her and worked 2 jobs when needed. But I did have support from my family, friends,coaches and teachers that helped in different areas when asked.
