that is the depressing part. Europe still has capital, talent, universities, engineers, and customers. what it lacks is a risk transfer machine. too much wealth gets parked in property, luxury, bonds, and protected incumbents instead of being forced through new company formation. the money is alive on paper and dead operationally.

Europe should not be scared of Musk's wealth. It should be scary that its biggest names on this list are old industry, luxury, retail, and inherited empires. The US prints platform founders. China prints hardware and infra giants. Europe still mostly prints regulated incumbents. That is the uncomfortable part.
