I will say packaged foods are great in this regard in that you can very easily track your calories whereas for homecooked meals it's much harder to know. It's why I like sandwiches. Ironically, I was at my skinniest when I routinely ate sourdough, brie, and prosciutto. Though usually it was a small slice of brie, one piece of prosciutto, and one slice of sourdough.

@honeyNonABG It's also possible to gain a ton of weight while eating "healthy". The olive oil adds up fast. That slice of sourdough is 130 calories. Foods like ribeyes and salmon while very nutritious are also very calorie dense.

Went to both public and private school. Exaggerating a little, but most of what I learned, save for math and sciences, came from private reading. It doesn't really matter if your kids are bright and curious. The only downsides of public school are that it crushes the soul and it's very dependent on peer group.

Homeschooling is only good for high iq well educated parents with equally intelligent kids. The only reason why homeschooling kids do as well on testing as they do is bc the sample of homeschoolers is unusually interested in the education of their children. If everyone did it, different question.
