We mainly use C# and VB for our web development and MSSQL for the database. Knowledge of that will help but isn't a dealbreaker in the slightest, you just need to be able to get to the location, but its currently remote!

Today at work I published a change to a website without realizing my cat walked over the keyboard and typed all over the file. I didn't find out until showing the website to the client and it crashed. I like to imagine something similar happened at Facebook.

I just took a shot in the dark and applied despite not knowing C#. The lead dev really liked me in the interview and had no problem with the brief learning period since it was a Jr role and Javascript and C# arent TOO crazy different! Shoot your shot, fellow devs!

Fun fact: I've been studying javascript and its related frameworks for 3 years. I got my first job last december... As a Jr. C# / .Net dev?! Your coding journey will take many unexpected turns! Learn the fundamentals of coding and you can easily translate to other languages!

3 years of studying. 150+ job applications. Dozens of rejection letters. Today I finished the first day of my new job as a web developer. A day I was starting to believe may never actually come. This is the proudest accomplishment in my life 😁 Now I just have to not get fired!

I've been trying to learn C# / ASP.NET lately and....wow, I definitely understand now why React and Vue are the fun and popular ways to make websites these days Sadly a majority of web dev jobs in my area are .net so I guess I'll push on 😭

What do you consider to be a 'Junior Developer'? I definitely think we need more descriptive titles for seniority because it really doesn't seem like someone should be a junior if they have 5 years of professional experience 😂

Got myself all psyched up for a phone interview this morning just to get a message 10 minutes before saying the manager say my resume and decided to pass since they need someone with more experience...despite it being an entry-level job... Oh well...maybe next time : \
