@devnarware Bro it feels generic modernize the site i think you should work on the design a bit more, also u should add loading states until the data has come the norm loading icon does not look food try options like skeleton or showing a soner/badge notif
12/ And to be clear, none of this is anti-metro. It's a genuinely great mode. It's just not the right first move. Build for how Indian cities actually grow: buses first, cheaper and easier to expand. Save the metro for the corridors that truly need it.
1/ Genuine question: why is a metro always our first answer for city transport? I'm no city planner, but the more I look at it, the more it seems like the most expensive way to move the fewest people. We should be fixing buses first. A thread on why:
@kapilansh_twt due the left could have been a lot better if the text contrast was good the text on image is not readable enough the right looks bad cause of symbols
I'm not an expert, but the data center push into India deserves a harder look than the "digital growth" headlines give it.
Start with water. Closed-loop cooling saves water, sure, but you can't beat thermodynamics. The heat has to go somewhere, and if you switch to dry cooling to save water onsite, you just burn more power and push the water cost back onto the power plant. There's no free lunch. And this is happening in a country with 18% of the world's people but only 4% of its freshwater, where more than half of our data centers already sit in water-stressed regions.
But water isn't even the main problem. The real strain is the infrastructure around the data center, not the box itself. Our grid wasn't built for sudden gigawatt-scale loads. In the first quarter of 2026 alone, India lost 300 GWh of already-generated renewable power because the transmission network couldn't carry it to where it was needed. Now stack AI on top. Inference workloads especially are power-hungry, and India's data center demand is set to jump from about 1.4 GW today to 9-10 GW by 2030, roughly 3% of national electricity. And remember, our per-capita electricity use is still only about a third of the global average. Every gigawatt we route to exported compute is one not reaching the homes, farms, and factories that still need it.
And what do we get back? Barely any jobs. Data centers are among the least labor-intensive infrastructure that exists. A hyperscale site over 100 MW can run on as few as 20-30 permanent staff. The government floats "1 lakh jobs by 2030," but independent estimates say those headline numbers are inflated by roughly 3x, and most of the count is temporary construction work.
Here's the part that ties it together. The 2026-27 Union Budget now offers foreign cloud providers zero tax until 2047 on revenue from services sold outside India, as long as the compute runs from Indian data centers. Read that again. We host other countries' AI workloads, we eat the water and power cost on our own stressed land and grid, and we don't even tax the money they make doing it.
That's the exploitation. Not big tech forcing it on us, but us so eager to look like a "global compute hub" that we hand over scarce water, power, and cheap labor, waive the revenue, and call it a win. The cost is local and certain. The return is thin and shipped abroad.
