That sounds tough... As a man, I also felt similar pressure, but most of it resolved when I dared to address my deeper fears and needs with my partner (mostly of abandonment). I think they are ways to stop making interest in someone increase with sycophancy. I can try to elaborate more if you're interested :)

@p_millerd I found Hold Me Tight very insightful, especially for romantic relationships, going beyond popularized attachment theory and non-violent communication to explain how to lay evidence-based foundations for a deep relationship.

@SamStrongTalks @SouthernKeeks I think this is a good argument. I'm actually reading Bonded by Evolution and the author makes a similar case. People used to live in small groups. They may not feel attracted at the start but it's over time with the shared experience that they start feeling the bond.
