I wonder why any startups would agree to model lock-in, even if they get free tokens in exchange. They’d basically be letting the model company they choose see & handle all their proprietary company data (anyone not using open source is already doing this) in exchange for free compute… so that the model company can just rip off their business even faster… lol

I found the next $PLTR. It's a private AI startup called Flock that helped make 1M arrests last year. The company is now catching mainstream attention and backlash as its network of cameras make America's streets an AI query for agencies like ICE. The WSJ just laid the whole thing out. Flock was started in 2017 by a guy who had his Atlanta house robbed. Now it reads 20B license plates a month off cameras bolted to poles in 6,000+ communities. A crowdsourced map made by watchdog citizens pins 88,000 of these cameras across the country. Flock cameras photograph the back of every car that passes. Plate, color, make, model, the bumper sticker, the gun rack. Dumps it in a private cloud. The city picks how long it lives. Now people are noticing. And they're fighting back. Cities are ripping the contracts out. Roughly 50 have canceled or killed the cameras since last year, red towns and blue college towns alike. Dayton literally bagged theirs in garbage bags after out-of-state agencies ran thousands of immigration searches through the system. People are taking saws and spray paint to the poles. Atlanta is marching on the HQ under "Flock and ICE Out of ATL." A Troy resident called it a "dystopian hellscape" at a council meeting that ran past midnight. The counter-case: Flock reads plates, not faces, and courts have repeatedly ruled license plate readers don't violate the Fourth Amendment. Default 30-day retention, audit logs, no ICE or DHS contracts per the company. And it works, the cameras have helped solve homicides, find missing kids, and recover stolen cars, with a role in roughly a million arrests last year. So who owns this thing while the country argues over its ethics? Just who you'd expect. Peter Thiel's founder fund. A16Z. Kleiner. The same private market elites who wrote Anduril and Palantir early checks. Flock's valuation has more than doubled from $3.5B in 2022 to $8.4B in its most recent round. What's insane is the numbers it's putting up: $300M+ ARR growing 70%. Despite opposition, the rise of Flock feels inevitable. Most cities are renewing. Mayors and local PDs will point to the solved murders and rescued kids as the product is worth the cost. In light of this, we are working on a report on the "surveillance trade" to show retail investors what upside they can own in this nascent category as AI, autonomy, and 24/7 monitoring transform security as we know it.

$BE was losing $200,000,000 every year before spiking 3200% from $10. Right now, there's 4 stocks setting up exactly the same: 1. $TE target $110+ AI power buildout burning cash now, margins inflect once Austin G2 scales output 2. $KEEL target $70+ pivoting bitcoin power into AI compute leases, re-rating from miner to infrastructure play 3. $POET target $50+ near-zero revenue today, but $500M+ optical AI supply deal could flip that fast 4. $APLD target $400+ AI data center buildout burning cash now, contracted leases could flip it profitable ♻️ RESHARE this post and write 1 comment, I'll DM you right now my favorite 1000% call option to get for $TE.
Why Photonics Matters in AI ? $AAOI Imagine the internet is a highway. Traditional electronics move data using electricity through copper wires. Photonics moves data using light through fiber-optic cables. Light can carry much more information and travel much farther than electrical signals. ⸻ What is a transceiver? A transceiver is a small device that sits at each end of a fiber-optic cable. Its job is to: Take electrical data from a server or switch. -Convert it into flashes of light. -Send that light through fiber. -Receive light coming back. -Convert it back into electrical data. Think of it as a translator between electronics and light. ⸻ Where does $AAOI fit in? $AAOI (Applied Optoelectronics) manufactures: -Optical transceivers -Lasers -Fiber-optic networking components Their products are used inside: AI data centers Cloud providers Telecom networks Broadband networks ⸻ Why AI is making this important A modern AI data center may contain: Thousands of GPUs Massive amounts of data moving between them The GPUs can’t work together efficiently unless they can communicate extremely fast. That’s where optical networking comes in. The data path looks like: GPU → Switch → Transceiver → Fiber → Transceiver → Switch → GPU Every connection requires optical hardware.

@Gubloinvestor @gurgavin @amitisinvesting you and @gurgavin are holding up the Canadian Flags - way to go..
🚨Everyone is still buying the chips. The bottleneck already moved. A GPU that computes in nanoseconds and waits microseconds for data is a stranded asset. At 1.6T speeds, copper runs out of physics. The constraint on AI is no longer how fast you can think. It's how fast you can move what you thought. Jensen has now said it twice in three months. At GTC in March: "Is copper going to still be important? The answer is yes... Are you going to scale up optical? Yes. Are you going to scale out optical? Yes... We need a lot more capacity for copper. We need a lot more capacity for optics. We need a lot more capacity for CPO." Last week at Computex, on Marvell's stage: "Optics where you must, copper where you can." Then he called Marvell the next trillion-dollar company and the optical complex repriced within days. The same keynote put a date on the handoff: 200G per lane is the last generation where copper is sufficient. After that, optics takes the rack. Translation: not copper OR light. Copper now, light next, unprecedented amounts of both. 🔥 The chain is unavoidable: AI tokens are profitable → more GPUs → more bandwidth → copper hits its wall → photonics becomes the chokepoint. And the smart money stopped debating. Follow the closed deals: → $NVDA has committed at least $6.5B to photonics in three months: $2B into Lumentum, $2B into Coherent, a $500M stake in Corning, and a piece of Ayar Labs' $500M round. Direct investments to secure its own light supply. → $MRVL paid $3.25B for Celestial AI, up to $5.5B with milestones, to build what its CEO calls a silicon photonics powerhouse. → $CRDO closed DustPhotonics two weeks ago. Ciena bought CPO startup Nubis for $270M. North of $10B of strategic capital locked up one supply chain in under a year. Capital like that doesn't chase a theme. It secures a bottleneck. LAYER 1: WAFER. Every laser starts as a crystal. 🟠 $AXTI: the InP substrate leader. The first chokepoint in the stack. 🟡 $IQE: compound-semi epiwafers feeding the laser makers. Speculative, but structurally upstream. LAYER 2: LIGHT. Photons don't make themselves. 🟠 $LITE: revenue +90% YoY last quarter to $808M. EML shipments doubled and management says demand still exceeds supply across EMLs, pump lasers, and transceivers. NVIDIA just wired them $2B. OCS backlog past $400M plus a multi-hundred-million CPO order for 2027. 🟢 $SIVEF (Stockholm: SIVE): the external light source. CPO does not emit its own light. Every optical engine needs a continuous-wave InP laser feeding it, and that is the layer you cannot engineer around. ELS modules with POET hit production readiness end of this year. Disclosure: long. 🟣 $POET: the optical engine wildcard. Its Optical Interposer pairs with Sivers' lasers on external light sources for CPO, with a LITEON module deal stacked on top. Binary commercialization, real architecture. LAYER 3: OPTICS AND MODULES. Where light meets the rack. 🟠 $COHR: the volume anchor in transceivers, holding NVIDIA's other $2B check. 🔵 $AAOI: Q1 revenue +51% to a record $151M, datacenter revenue more than doubled, $124M of 800G orders plus a $200M+ 1.6T order in hand. Scaling Texas capacity toward 500K+ units a month by year-end, targeting $1B+ revenue this year. Domestic supply while everyone fights over offshore. Disclosure: long. 🟠 $FN: the foundry of optics. When Fabrinet is building, the orders already exist. THE INTERCONNECT: the layer the rack cannot route around. 🔵 $CRDO: just closed DustPhotonics. SerDes → DSP → silicon photonics → system integration, one company, 800G through 3.2T. Electrical AND optical, end to end. FY26 revenue tripled to $1.34B at 68% gross margin. The toll booth on both roads. Disclosure: long. 🟠 $MRVL: $3.25B for Celestial AI, and Jensen's trillion-dollar nod on the Computex stage. 🟠 $AVGO: switch silicon, optical DSPs, CPO engines. They define the socket. 🟠 $ANET: the AI spine. 100K-GPU clusters get stitched together in light. LAYER 4: PACKAGING, FIBER, FOUNDRY. Where photons get industrialized. 🔵 $TSEM: the neutral silicon photonics foundry. Prints wafers for whoever wins. 🟣 $LPKF: glass-substrate packaging for glass-based CPO. Real technology, binary commercialization. 🟠 $GLW: AI racks demand several times the fiber density of legacy cloud, and NVIDIA just took a $500M stake. Corning sells density. LAYER 5: TEST AND THE ANALOG UNDERLAYER. Complexity is a tax paid in validation. 🔵 $AEHR: silicon photonics test, ramping with the cycle. ' 🔵 $VIAV: every 800G and 1.6T transceiver gets validated before it ships. The gate the market prices like an accessory. 🔵 $SMTC: the drivers and TIAs that fire the lasers. Sits directly under the LPO trade. 🔵 $MTSI: the high-speed analog behind 1.6T engines. 🟠 $CIEN: transport. Even long-haul is buying light. 💡The counter-thesis, because every map needs one. The honest debate on this stack is whether these are genuine bottleneck assets or cyclical optics suppliers enjoying peak demand at peak multiples. Lumentum's May print showed +90% growth with the stock up roughly 1,400% over the prior year at a triple-digit trailing multiple. That is a price for perfection. Most of these names live or die on a handful of hyperscaler capex lines, and one digestion quarter hits the whole stack at once. CPO timing has already slipped once. Architecture risk is real: LPO, CPO, and stretched copper are still fighting for the same sockets. The cycle is real. So is the gravity. 🔥 But the bears have to explain one thing: $NVDA, $MRVL, $CRDO, and $CIEN just spent over $10B securing this supply chain with their own balance sheets. The people with the best information are paying up for the layers. The market owns the top of this stack. The asymmetry is at the edges: wafer, light, packaging, test. Own the layers, not the logo. Bookmark this for the weekend. Then tag the one investor you know who's still all compute and no interconnect. 👀
India's biggest-ever defence deal could be the 114 Rafale programme worth around ₹3.25 lakh crore. And the most interesting part? Most retail investors are looking at HAL. But HAL itself had clarified in February that it had not received any formal confirmation or official communication regarding participation in the proposed 114 Rafale manufacturing programme. That is where the market may be making a mistake. India already operates 36 Rafale jets. But the Air Force's fighter squadron strength has fallen to around 29 against a sanctioned 42. That is not a small gap. It is a structural capability gap. That is why India has moved on the 114 Rafale procurement. On 12 February 2026, the Defence Acquisition Council gave Acceptance of Necessity for a defence package worth about ₹3.60 lakh crore, within which the Rafale deal is estimated near ₹3.25 lakh crore. India has reportedly since issued the Letter of Request to France, structured as 18 jets flown in off the shelf and 96 built in India. But here is the important point. This is not a signed contract yet. It is still a negotiation-stage opportunity. So, buying every defence stock the moment you read "114 Rafale" is not investing. It is narrative chasing. The right way to read this deal is not company-wise. It is layer-wise. 👉Layer 1: Airframe and fuselage Dassault has officially partnered Tata Advanced Systems to build Rafale fuselages in India, under four production transfer agreements signed in June 2025. The Hyderabad facility is meant to deliver up to two fuselages a month from FY2028. First time a Rafale fuselage is built outside France. But Tata Advanced Systems is unlisted. So, the most direct fuselage play is simply not on the exchange. That is the first catch. The biggest manufacturing beneficiary may not be directly investable. Reliance Infrastructure has assembly-side exposure through Dassault Reliance Aerospace at Nagpur, which already makes aerostructures for the Falcon and Rafale. But read the fine print. Dassault took 51% control of that JV in 2025, so Reliance is now the minority partner. The final assembly line actually announced at Nagpur is for the Falcon 2000, not the Rafale. And the JV did about ₹70 crore of revenue in FY25, roughly 0.23% of Reliance Infra's consolidated topline. 👉Layer 2: Tooling, jigs and precision structures When the aircraft maker is unlisted, the next investable layer is its suppliers. This is where TechEra Engineering, Dynamatic Technologies and AXISCADES Technologies get interesting. TechEra is a micro-cap in aerospace tooling, jigs, fixtures and flying parts, working the Rafale ecosystem through the Tata Advanced Systems route. Not glamorous products. But without tooling and jigs, aircraft manufacturing does not scale, because tolerances are tight and qualification is slow. Dynamatic Technologies already builds Su-30 fuselage sections with HAL and holds a Dassault Falcon 6X aerostructures contract from January 2024. A natural candidate if Rafale work localises, though its 114 workshare is not contracted yet. AXISCADES Technologies, a listed aerospace and defence engineering firm spanning structures, tooling, avionics and electronic warfare, which reportedly picked up offset work on the earlier Rafale-M deal. 👉Layer 3: Engine ecosystem Rafale runs on Safran's M88. Safran has signalled it would set up an M88 assembly line in India if the order moves ahead. This is where Azad Engineering becomes relevant. Azad signed a seven year deal with Safran in January 2024 for critical defence engine components, and works across aerospace, defence, energy and industrial precision parts. 👉Layer 4: Avionics and electronics A large part of a Rafale's value is not the body or engine. It is the RBE2 AESA radar, the SPECTRA electronic warfare suite, mission systems and communication electronics. These belong to Thales. And France has made clear the source codes for the radar and EW suite stay French IP, so the highest-value boxes remain locked. The listed name to track here is Centum Electronics. On its February 2026 concall, Centum said it is already a Rafale supplier through Thales, one of only two firms shipping electronics into the platform's global supply chain, and expects a larger workshare as the programme builds out in India. 👉Layer 5: Weapons and missile integration India wants more indigenous weapons on the new fleet, and this is where Bharat Dynamics (BDL) becomes the cleanest listed name. BDL produces the DRDO-developed Astra beyond-visual-range air-to-air missile. Astra's integration onto the Rafale has already been cleared, with Dassault handling the fire-control and software changes, and the longer-range Astra Mk2 is expected to follow around 2026 to 2027. BDL also holds a licensing tie-up with MBDA, the maker of Rafale's MICA and Meteor missiles, to assemble ASRAAM in India The big takeaway: The most obvious name may not be the biggest beneficiary. HAL has a huge franchise through Tejas, helicopters, engines and MRO. But for the 114 Rafale programme specifically, the cleaner direct route runs through Dassault's private Indian ecosystem, Tata Advanced Systems above all, and potentially Dassault Reliance. Tooling suppliers. Precision structural makers. Aerospace machining. Engine component suppliers. Avionics partners already qualified by global OEMs. That is where the real research starts. "114 Rafale" is not one stock. It is an aerospace ecosystem. And the value pools at the top of that chain, in French IP you cannot buy, while the part you can buy sits one or two layers below the jet. First fuselage isn't expected before FY2028, and the contract still isn't signed. So the right question is not "which stock goes up tomorrow." It is "which Indian companies are already qualified suppliers to global aerospace OEMs, and can capture incremental work as Rafale localisation deepens?" That is where the opportunity may be hiding. 📌Disclaimer: Educational purposes only, not a buy/sell recommendation
