In 1940, a pair of identical twin boys were born in Ohio and placed for adoption just weeks after birth. They were sent to different families who had no contact with each other. Neither family knew much about the other. Each set of parents, independently, chose to name their new son James. The two boys grew up in separate homes, in separate towns, living what appeared to be entirely separate lives. But as researchers would later discover, the parallels running through those lives were almost impossible to believe. Both boys went by the nickname Jim. Both married a woman named Linda, then divorced her. Both then remarried a woman named Betty. Both had a son and named him James Alan. Both owned a dog at some point in their childhood and gave it the same name: Toy. Both had worked in law enforcement. Both drove the same model of Chevrolet. Both had built a white bench around a tree in their backyard. Neither Jim knew the other existed until 1979, when they were 39 years old and finally reunited. The case of James Springer and James Lewis, known ever since as the Jim Twins, became one of the most studied examples in the history of twin research. University of Minnesota researchers used their reunion as a landmark moment in understanding how much of human personality, preference, and behavior is shaped by genetics rather than environment. Two men raised by strangers in different towns. Same name. Same marriages. Same dog. Same sons. Same bench in the backyard. Some things, it turns out, run deeper than circumstance.

On that day, more than 156,000 Allied troops from the United States, Britain, Canada, and other nations stormed five beaches along the coast of Normandy, France (Utah, Omaha, Gold, Juno, and Sword). Supported by over 5,000 ships and 11,000 aircraft, the operation broke through Hitler’s heavily fortified Atlantic Wall and established a crucial foothold in Nazi occupied Western Europe. It was strategically vital because it opened a long awaited second front, relieving massive pressure on the Soviet Union in the East, draining German resources, and beginning the liberation of Europe setting the stage for the eventual defeat of Nazi Germany less than a year later. Did you know Brigadier General Theodore Roosevelt Jr. (son of former U.S. President Theodore “Teddy” Roosevelt) personally landed with the very first wave of troops at Utah Beach despite his age and health problems? He rallied scattered units under heavy fire, helped organize the chaotic assault, and became the only Allied general to come ashore with the initial invasion force that day. 🚨AMAZON DRIVER RUNS OVER FAMILY DOG AND LEAVES HER TO DIE On April 21st at 4:56PM, an Amazon delivery driver in Benson, NC ignored clear instructions, entered a private driveway, and ran over Sadie, a beloved dog owned by Marshall and Valerie Chavis. The driver did not stop, did not check on her, and did not notify the family. Within minutes, Sadie was rushed to the vet with catastrophic injuries, including severe brain trauma and fractures to her C1 and C2 vertebrae. She is alive, but barely, and now fighting for her life. In Valerie’s words: “Immediately upon impact Sadie ran to the front porch as a dog does when they have been hit. She was urinating uncontrollably, trying to stand and repeatedly falling over, her left eye bulging out of her head, both of her eyes bouncing back and forth rapidly, both pupils dilated, and visible bruising and abrasions on the left side of her body from impact. I immediately knew her injuries were severe.” The Chavis family had done everything right. A clearly marked package drop box at the road. Posted signage. No Trespassing notices. Explicit delivery instructions. Carriers like FedEx and UPS follow these directions without issue. Amazon drivers have repeatedly ignored them. Now, instead of taking responsibility, Amazon is refusing to step up. The company is demanding the family pay thousands of dollars out of pocket for emergency, life saving care, with only the possibility of partial reimbursement later. This is negligence. This is unacceptable. And it cannot be ignored. AMAZON NEEDS TO #SaveSadie. Share this and demand that Amazon take responsibility and change its practices before another family suffers the same devastation. @amazon

You already feed me "That's a social program. Not everyone qualifies" > I'm your daughter "Which is why you're currently enrolled" She wants to see where the money goes I tell her that would require a FOIA request > what's that "A form asking me to show you what I do with your money. Processing time is 6 to 8 weeks" > 6 weeks to see where my $3 went? "Could be longer. You paid me "Right but I need you to tell me how much I paid you" > so you already know the answer "The point is compliance" She asks what happens if she gets the number wrong "Penalty" > from the money I don't have because you already spent it? @jakesilverlab I'm so very sorry. Truly. I know the loss all too well. You gave her an amazing life, and she knew nothing but love.

Did you ever question everything? I do. I was sitting in the beach just after sunrise this morning with my 2 dogs and I came across a man taking his buffalo swimming and bathing him. He loved that animal and the 2 of them had a deep bond as they spent 30 minutes in the water. He has the same bond I had with Hank and Chance beside me. It’s my favorite time of the week. Most people are hungover in bed. The tourists aren’t up yet. After working all week I give myself 30 minutes to think before the dog madness continues. Lately I’ve been feeling a bit down looking at the world. Everything seems to be about money. Every human is trying to amass power, wealth or fame at the expense of everything else. People don’t even look at each other any more instead preferring their phones. Image and status is everything. The world seems driven by anger, consumption and a total disregard for others. We’ve crossed the rubicon in many worrying areas globally as a society. I think I’m just at the sharp end of it in Samui as the island gets taken over by tourists and people building villas. I see everything tossed out from rubbish and local customs to the dogs I try to help. Humans care so little for the world we live in and it’s really starting to show. My mission is to help the world’s street dogs and I’ll need to use the technology, capital and systems of the modern world to do that but it pains me to live in that world. I’ll only do it for the sake of the street dogs. AI is 100% taking most of the jobs no matter what anybody says, the wealth divide is growing and the unfortunate creatures like the dogs will continue to suffer most. As I sat watching the man washing his buffalo and the sun rising I just longed for a simpler life. A life where humans and animals lived together peacefully and respected the land rather than chasing meaningless paper wealth and fake status. All I can try and do is build a small corner of kindness and compassion with wonderful people to help as many dogs as possible. No matter how helpless some of us feel in life the street dogs really have no voice and very few humans on their side. Be kind to each other ❤️

Jerome Horwitz, famous for playing CURLY in "THE THREE STOOGES", was known to all as a protector of dogs. Curly's contract with Columbia Pictures included a clause that allowed his dogs to accompany him on the studio lot. Columbia limited it to no more than two dogs at a time, this due to the puppies' unplanned on-camera appearances from time to time. You can still see those surprise dog on set invasions in the first few short films. Typically surrounded by various dogs, Curly was known to come home with a stray dog ​​and foster it until he could find it a permanent home. When the Stooges were out on the road, Curly took it upon himself to find a new home for at least one stray dog ​​in every town they visited. Curly is estimated to have saved and rescued more than 5,000 dogs in his lifetime. This makes him a man ahead of his time, with a very admirable concern for man's best friend.

This is the goodest boy to ever exist. After walkies, he politely hangs up his leash, hops into the sink, turns on the faucet, and washes every paw (front and back!). Then sits patiently for dad to towel dry. Impeccable hygiene. Pls heart ❤️ him

A guy spots a sign outside a house that reads “Talking Dog for Sale.” Intrigued, he walks in. “So what have you done with your life?” he asks the dog. “I’ve led a very full life,” says the dog. “I lived in the Alps rescuing avalanche victims. Then I served my country in Iraq. And now I spend my days reading to the residents of a retirement home.” The guy is flabbergasted. He asks the dog’s owner, “Why on Earth would you want to get rid of an incredible dog like that?” The owner says, “Because he’s a liar! He never did any of that!😉🤘
