@eczaui @sir_yanka254 @MisterAlbie Yes,since the colonial stereotypes, i.e., idle land, warrior people, were used to rationalize the Maasai dispossession.The forced relocations were framed as “necessary” because Maasai land was “unused” and Maasai themselves were “unsuited” to cultivation.

@sir_yanka254 @MisterAlbie Loote argues that colonial officials argued that Maasai were naturally pastoralists and fighters, not cultivators. Hughes notes that this stereotype reinforced the idea that they did not deserve prime agricultural land but could be useful in military or policing roles.

@WashiraX Meet Gebery Ltd, KRA arrested and forced the cleaner to sign an Order for Settlement, imposing a penalty of Kshs. 300,000 and claimed the cleaner actions bound the company. The HC vacated the entire tax demand. KRA gone rogue, and soon a taxpayer will reset them physically

@Nickykkamau @WashiraX The real issue in Eastleigh and Nyamakima isn't rental income or asst matching via property or other assets the revenue leaks are covered. The real leakage is customs to retail to hawala/Mpesa reconciliation that KRA has no full visibility over. And KRA with Obel there is trouble

@Nickykkamau @WashiraX Also, to complement that is data triangulation to match foot traffic, delivery channels and MPESA withdrawals/aggregated deposit polling with deemed sectoral profit margins within a block of shops and leave it to trader to proof otherwise.

@Nickykkamau @WashiraX What they haven't done is implementing consolidator liability where the consolidator is legally liable for the eTIMS registration of every trader in their manifest. If the goods aren't linked to a valid PIN, the entire cargo is not cleared or taxes paid by consolidator

@AL_Pseudo Exactly, you do three rounds if interviews even with CSuite teams and then you receive an insulting offer as if in the first interview the budget wasn't known. When HR calls you as successful you receive excuses about budgets etc.

I once went to a leading financial services firm tax manager interview and I was successful and when the offer came it was around 70% what I was earning in the Big4 then. Employers should just put their budget early in the interview process to save time for everyone

The TAT held Under Section 29(2) of the TPA, the KRA is under a mandatory obligation to notify the taxpayer in writing: 1.The factual basis for the assessment. 2.The mathematical components (the actual computations). 3.A breakdown of penalties and interest.

In a major win for taxpayers, the TAT has ruled that the KRA cannot rely on mere system generated figures to create a tax liability. The TAT clarified that a mere figure appearing on a taxpayer's iTax ledger does not constitute a valid assessment.
