“Canadians have no culture!” Compared to what? Compared to whom? Anyone want to explain why the lines form in one direction only? Why people from the places supposedly overflowing with rich culture spend years, money, and sometimes risk death to get here—and almost no one is doing the reverse? Canadians are not lining up for visas to the Middle East or the third world. The revealed preference is obvious. Canada has a culture. It’s just not flashy. It’s reliable institutions, relatively low corruption, physical security, high trust, functioning infrastructure, and the freedom to live without constant communal or religious coercion. Boring as hell to some people. Extremely valuable to the ones who keep showing up. It’s past time Canadians got proud of what they actually built. Not the cheap “we’re not America” version. Not the performative “Fuck Trump” version. The real one: pride in having created a society that people will risk everything to join. That is the culture that matters.

Plenty of newcomers do exactly what was expected historically. They learn the language, respect the laws and norms, and follow the old rule: when in Rome. That part still works when people choose it. The real failure is on the Canadian side. Large numbers of Canadians have been trained to treat pride in their own culture, history, and traditions as suspect or extreme. That is the inversion. A host society that is ashamed of itself has nothing coherent for anyone to join. Ask the reciprocity question no one wants answered: Would Canadians receive the same leeway in India, Pakistan, or Iran that we extend here? Would they be free to live by Canadian norms, criticize local customs, and demand the host country adapt to them? Or would they be told, correctly, to assimilate to the language, laws, and expectations of the place they moved to? This is where progressive logic collapses under its own weight. Canadian conservatives are treated as misogynistic, anti-LGBTQ, and dangerously religious for holding relatively mild traditional views. At the same time, cultures that enforce female covering, cousin marriage, public shame and violence against gay people, and religion as the non-negotiable foundation of life are handled with kid gloves. The same standards are never applied. You cannot demand equal treatment under liberal rules while refusing to apply those rules evenly. A confident host culture sets the terms. A guilt-ridden one does not.

A thought experiment: Someone immigrates to Canada and desperately wants to assimilate. They reject the notion of multiculturalism because they've experienced the failures of an inferior culture firsthand. Where does that person go to become a Canadian?

Every self respecting Canadian should be fucking furious about this. Canada is not open to more Indian students who seem to believe that a student visa is permanent residency. They’re out in the streets waving their fucking flags and talking about boycotting the whites. That’s not the deal. It’s not racist or prejudice or anything of the sort. Canadians, black, white, brown and otherwise have every fucking right to demand that those who come here assimilate. “When in Rome do as the Romans do” not “come build your own Rome on the back of the Canadian taxpayer”. What a fucking joke this country has become.

Wherever you look in Canada, priority is made for the most toxic among us. The legal system favours the criminal over the victim. The immigration system incentivizes the con artist over the contributor. Academia favours the propagandist over the scientist.

You and every legacy media outlet would denounce it as the return of “Canada’s dark history.” Yet when the roles are reversed, the silence is deafening. That double standard is deliberate and corrosive. You inherited a system that imported record numbers of people while abandoning any serious expectation of assimilation. The result is parallel communities that treat Canada as an economic extraction zone rather than a country they are obligated to join. When they state the goal out loud—financial power over the existing population—you cannot pretend this is healthy multiculturalism. Canadians are done with the lectures. Enforce removals on temporary residents and those who reject the social contract. Stop the pipeline of mass low-assimilation immigration. Defend the interests of the people already here. Anything less is just managed decline dressed up as virtue. The country is watching whether you will put Canada first or keep managing the progressive script that produced this.

This only makes sense to those who treat any deal Alberta makes with Ottawa as treason. Alberta has to deal with the federal govt that actually exists not the one these same people wish was there. Reducing temporary residents and getting housing and energy projects moving requires trade-offs. Demanding purity while offering no realistic alternative is the real base problem — it’s just the online partisan base, not the one that has to live with results.

Isn’t it more effective to demand the hospital and any public funders explain why someone discussing marriage to a 4-year-old is still in a position of trust — and to press Muslim leaders for a clear, no-escape-hatch repudiation of child marriage rather than just declaring “Islam is the religion of pedophilia and rape”? Ban the practice. Fire the people who defend it. Force the community to reject it out loud. That’s how you actually stop it. Broad-brush ideology talk feels good but lets the specific offenders and institutions off the hook. Too bad truth, logic, reason, and objective thinking don’t rack up the same likes, views, and shares as your bit does, Kat.
