@DrKenStone1 @drvolts Yes, there may be a good point here, but Smith I. is far from wealthy. $30K family incomes. A (literally) few upper-middle-class folks have bought homes there in the past year or so. Those "tens of millions" were spent long before Becky and Josh from Towson showed up.

@jesshopp Among my fellow skate rats in small town Miss. A bridge from mall metal (along w rhcp, fishbone, fnm) to the "good stuff" (Dischord, SST, subpop, etc.) we could find in actual record stores once we got drivers licenses.

@JPenelope80 Just came across this. I was friendly with J. at HA. In fact, he, Ankush, and I (a skate rat Northern Catholic with a weird last name) sat together at lunch for the first quarter of so of 88-89 school year. Quite the group of misfits! Lol.

@TheNormanNation Eudora Welty a few times in high school. She knew my friend's grandmother, who cooked lunch for a bunch of us once a month... and sometime Eudora was there visiting. Also due to Mississippi: John Grisham. And talked to Alan Moore on the phone for an interview.
