Durin the Ottoman period, the Muslim Turks, in order to terrorize the Greeks, impaled and roasted alive Athanasios Diakos. But, they gave him a chance: "Will you become a Turk, Diakos? Will you change your faith? Will you pray in the mosque and abandon the church?" He replied to them: "Go away, you and your faith, may you perish, you heathens! I was born a Greek, and as a Greek I shall die." According to eyewitness accounts of the time, two Turks kindled a fire beside the stable and set an iron grate over it, with a large copper cauldron of oil above the flames. They then lifted Diakos, still bound, and seated him on an old wooden stool. His legs were raised. The Turks began to mock him and put questions to him. At every negative nod they drove nails into his feet. Afterward they took the boiling oil and poured it first over his bare feet. Seeing that he gave no reaction, they tore his clothing and began pouring the oil over his back and chest. He groaned quietly under the pain. The soldiers, ordered not to kill him, used needles to burst the blisters that the boiling oil raised on his skin. This went on for hours, until the following morning. Exhausted, he was dragged through the town to be put to death. The execution was carried out in public view, by leave of Halil Bey, so that the Greeks would be warned of the fate awaiting anyone who dared to rise in revolt. Diakos’s mother was present at his torture. After he had been tied backward onto a saddle with his legs forced apart, the executioner began pressing the sharpened point of a wooden stake into his groin and then drove it slowly deeper, through the length of his body, until it emerged near his right ear. The executioner worked with care, under orders not to kill him quickly; with every thrust of the stake, Diakos’s cries showed that he was still alive. When the executioner had finished, the Turks bound the body tightly to the stake so the skin would not tear, and propped him nearly upright against a tree. As he was dying, he is said to have spoken these sorrowful lines: "Look at the hour Death has chosen to take me, now, when the branches are in blossom and the earth brings forth grass." After many hours of torment, the Greek chieftain died on April 24, 1821. When the Greeks learned of his story and his martyrdom, they were filled with even greater rage and strength to liberate themselves from the barbarous Muslims and Islam. Edesius was a pagan priest, and the entire family was pagan. A dissolute young pagan named Aglaidas wanted by every means to seduce Saint Justina, having been captivated by her beauty. But because she firmly rejected his advances, he sought Cyprian’s help. Cyprian repeatedly sent demons against Saint Justina, trying to kindle within her an impure passion for Aglaidas, but he achieved nothing, for Saint Justina drove the evil spirits away through the sign of the Cross and prayer to God. Then Cyprian came to know the power of the Cross and received Holy Baptism. In time, he became a priest and later a bishop. The enraged pagans denounced both him and Justina. I keep hearing that Cardano looks terrible and that $ADA is a “dead coin.” I haven't looked at it for awhile so I finally pulled up the macro chart for myself. I don’t see a horrible looking chart at all. What I see is a massive multi-year compression structure just like a multitude of other assets. It's just one more example of market-wide confluence from a structural standpoint. It tells me that alts are cumulatively getting ready to run. Why would all these assets be showing similar structures at the same time? Because we are on the verge of total market adoption where the utility of many of these altcoins will be necessary to power a decentralized financial system. Bitcoin's best use case is as a store of value. The current administration's talk of creating a Bitcoin reserve is evidence of that. With the exception of the COVID dislocation, ADA has respected the same rising macro support for roughly nine years. At the same time, price has been compressed beneath a descending trend line from the 2021 high. There was a false breakout in 2025, but price ultimately came back inside the structure. Now we’re back above the upper rail again. The difference this time is that average volume is starting to rise right as price reaches the apex and attempts to hold above macro resistance. That is exactly where I want to see participation increase. This still needs confirmation. A weekly close above the upper trend line followed by a successful retest would be far more meaningful than simply poking above it. But from a structural standpoint, I would describe this as: 2018–2021: Expansion 2021–2026: Compression 2025: False breakout 2026: Macro support hold plus renewed breakout attempt with increasing volume That is not what a bad chart looks like to me. Sometimes an asset looks “dead” simply because it has spent years compressing while nobody is paying attention. The question now is whether $ADA can finally turn that long-term descending resistance into support. If it does, this chart changes significantly. $ADA #Cardano #Crypto #TechnicalAnalysis #Altcoin
