Claude went down this morning. A friend just messaged me in a panic. He's paying premium prices for Opus. Has zero fallback. And now his entire workflow is frozen because one provider hiccuped. He's not just overpaying, but building dangerous dependencies into his operations. GLM 5.2 would handle 98% of his use cases at roughly one-tenth the cost. Probably more reliably too. All whily he could be saving 75% right now and sleeping better. The real lesson isn't about picking the "best" model. It's about model liquidity. I see many companies making the same bet. They lock into one provider, one API, one point of failure. Then outages like this are becoming a substantial risk to the operation of full departments.. We currently watch companies panic because the cost for AI is "too high". Put in budget caps at 2k USD per employee. That's ridiculous, a non technical knowledge worker is fine with a budget of 40 to 60 USD per month. Simple Single provider dependency. Entirely preventable. Why? They don't know better. Totally understandable. That's what I am going against. ;) The winners are building on top of model aggregation. Same prompt. Multiple backends. Automatic failover. Cost optimization isn't just about cheaper tokens. It's about operational continuity. Stop romanticizing the frontier model. If you are not an engineer you are well served ever since Sonnet 4 was released. And Sonnet 4 is best substituted with a model like Kimi K2.5 and above.

BREAKING NEWS: US BANS ANTHROPIC MODEL USAGE OUTSIDE US. A letter from the US government deleted two AI models from every laptop in Europe. Not a hack. Not an outage. A letter. Anthropic had no choice. Within hours, Fable 5 and Mythos 5 were gone for everyone outside the US. And inside the US for any non-American. Including their own engineers who hold the wrong passport. We were testing Fable 5 internally. Ran our own codebase through it. The results were honestly the best we'd seen from any model on security analysis. We were about to flip on European hosting. Then a letter. Here is the part nobody is talking abuot yet: This was not a price negotiation. Not a security incident on Anthropic's side. Not a contract dispute. It was a unilateral act by a government against a private vendor, executed in under 6 hours, that erased a tool from every European stack relying on it. Every CIO running an "AI strategy" deck this morning has the same question on slide one now. Whose laws govern the model I just bet my workflow on?

@rohitdotmittal We are currently just mass adopting OSS to what our customers needs. It's an insane time where you find a solution already inline you just need to tweak it a bit with domain knowledge. Will be fun platform businesses built out of the sheer amount of OSS being built rn.
