I can get the same deal on on Steam, and not have to worry if the disc is botched or not. It's much better for the devs if you don't trade in physicals. Reselling on Ebay years later for twice the price they bought it for is what music people call "collector assholes".

This is the biggest reason physical games shouldn’t disappear. 4 games for $20. You can’t trade digital. You can’t resell digital. You can’t hunt bargains like this with digital. Competition keeps prices honest. Physical media gives players choice.

Corporate greed won already decades ago, and you accepted it already. It's better for Playstation as a company to not go through distributors like Amazon/Gamestop/etc. It's worse for the bigger company = Amazon to not take cuts from Playstation games.

I don’t want to live in the timeline where corporate greed wins and we eventually just accept it. If the future of PlayStation means removing physical media and taking away that choice permanently, then I’m walking away. I won’t buy the PS6. I’ll miss the exclusives. I’ll miss

There is annoying filler ballooning, and some of my favorites are on the shorter end. I don't care about length. I care about what I'm in the mood or theme to play. Typically I play/read/listen/watch things with connected themes in the same time period.

playtime is obviously very personal preferences. Personally, I do prefer longer JRPGs.... assuming the game is great of course. There were many times where I felt "I wish the game was longer" But there was almost never where I felt "I wish the game was shorter"

It's really like 99.something % of music except for super underground music. Used music is whatever, if you can maintain it well. MOST books are better handled through libraries, and it'd make sense to help authors by convincing libraries across the board buy more copies.

@TheDavidVinc It really has little to nothing to do with physical copies. I don't think they'll commit suicide. It feels like these entertainment industries are going that route, but true preservation has always existed on ROMs, even in the floppy disk era for decades already.

Yeah, I'm another millennial with walls of shit (there is more). Physical media isn't my religion. There is great criticisms to be had about physical media. You aren't pure, or special for having it. I'm not going to tell you to buy more of it. This is bad for the environment.

@takeme2hobbiton Just wait for the digital sales that happen within the year of release generally. I never buy games for the new price. You could get Hogwarts Legacy for under $10 within the first 2 years of release for example.
