This claim is misleading. The Government has not announced blending ordinary ethanol into Aviation Turbine Fuel (ATF). What has been notified is the inclusion of Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) within the regulatory framework for ATF. SAF is not raw ethanol. It is aviation-grade fuel produced through advanced processing that is chemically similar to conventional ATF and is fully compatible with aircraft engines. Before any SAF is approved for aviation use, it must undergo rigorous testing and certification under internationally accepted ASTM standards recognised by the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). According to the Government, SAF does not alter the fundamental nature, safety or performance of aviation fuel. In fact, India is aligning with global aviation practices. ICAO’s CORSIA framework and several major aviation markets are moving towards increasing use of certified Sustainable Aviation Fuel to reduce emissions while maintaining the highest safety standards. Conflating certified Sustainable Aviation Fuel with simply “mixing ethanol into jet fuel” is inaccurate and unnecessarily creates alarm about aviation safety.

Arvind Kejriwal wants petrol to be sold at ₹84 per litre or less irrespective of international crude prices. If he truly believes that, he should start with Punjab, where his own party is in power. Petrol in Punjab is retailing at ₹105.24 per litre. The price build-up exposes his hypocrisy. The base price charged to dealers is ₹81.77 per litre, and the dealer commission is ₹4.48. The only major component entirely under the Punjab government’s control is VAT, which currently adds approx ₹18.99 per litre. If Kejriwal waives Punjab’s VAT, petrol would cost around ₹86.25 per litre without touching the dealer margin. He doesn’t even need the Centre’s approval. So why hasn’t he done it? Instead of lecturing others, Kejriwal should first implement his own formula in Punjab. Until then, his ₹84-per-litre promise is nothing more than political theatre.

Re-exam paper leaks too. Exam cancelled twice. Leak double, trauma triple. CID arrests the minister's own PA for leaking paper. No resignation follows, just an excuse. Fast forward to 2026, that same minister runs the same department again today, under Congress Govt in Karnataka. These are the standards of accountability of the Congress.
