I completely agree HOWEVER the vast majority of excellent palliative care is provided not in hospices/ specialist services but in homes by amazing DISTRICT NURSES, the unsung sheros here. yet their numbers have been decimated and working arrangements trashed. RESTORE THE DNs.
We owe it as a moral duty to all those people who fear they may experience avoidable pain in the last days of their lives. 4/4

Maybe before writing a “GP to Kindly ….” Letter, every hospital doctor should look at this data & consider whether there is a better alternative to dumping unpaid work on GPs @Parody_RCGP
These stats are frankly bonkers. If anybody is complaining about why they are waiting to see a GP. They need to ask why successive governments have not supported the same growth in GP numbers as it has hospital medic numbers @wesstreeting fix it or fail
