스바트폰 디자인의 호불호를 떠나서 커뮤니티 기반으로 팬덤을 만들었다는 건 인정할만한 제품인 듯. 하드웨어만 팔려고하지 말고 항상 커뮤니티를 기반으로 지속가능한 플랫폼을 만들어야 살아남는 법. 말이야 쉽지만 기존 제조사에서는 실행이 정말 어려습니다.
국내에서는 그다지 인지도가 없는 @nothing 이라는 중소 스마트폰 브랜드를 계속적으로 관심 가지고 언급하는 이유는 IT 제조업 분야가 커뮤니티를 통한 Co-creation을 지속적으로 시도하고 있는 몇 안되는 사례이기 때문 최근 출시한 중저가 제품인 Phone(2a)는 다소 기괴한 디자인으로 인해
룬이 비트코인에 있어서 왜 매우 중요한 순간인 이유를 이해하려면 네트워크 보안 예산과 관련된 논쟁을 다시 살펴봐야 합니다. 비트코인은 지난 수년 동안 맥시들로부터 가치 저장소로 매우 칭송을 받아왔습니다. 금과 같은 의미로 말이죠. 하지만 가치저장소가 된다는 것은 해당 코인을 아예 이동하지 않는다는 것을 의미합니다. 지갑에 영원히 넣어 두고 움직일 필요가 아예 없습니다. 비트코인이 오직 가치저장소만의 문제로 귀결되게 되면 전송이 거의 또는 전혀 없으므로 채굴자에게 전송 수수료가 부과되지 않습니다. 하지만 문제는 네트워크를 보호하는 것은 채굴자이고, 채굴자에게는 언제나 채굴을 진행할 인센티브가 필요하다는 것입니다. 비트코인이 탄생할 때 인센티브는 각 블록당 50 BTC라는 막대한 보조금으로 부트스트랩되었습니다. 나카모토쨩은 4년마다 보조금 지급 인센티브가 절반으로 줄어들도록 비트코인을 설계했습니다. 자연스럽게 인센티브는 줄어들고, 채굴자의 네트워크 보호에 대한 시스템 역시 문제가 생깁니다. 따라서 가치저장수단으로만의 BTC 가치 추정에는 심각한 결함이 있습니다. 채굴자에 대한 인센티브가 감소하고 충분한 전송 수수료가 없으면 채굴자 네트워크는 장기적으로 비트코인 네트워크를 보호할 인센티브가 줄어듭니다. 이 문제를 해결하려면 더 많은 "거래"가 필요합니다. 즉, BTC는 가치 저장 수단이 아닌 "교환 매체"로 더 많이 활용되어야 합니다. 비트코인 백서에서 언급했듯이 채굴자에 대한 보조금 감소를 완화하는 한 가지 방법은 이를 전송 수수료로 대체하는 것입니다. 그러나 전송 수수료는 채굴자 네트워크에 보조금을 지급할 수 있을 만큼 일관되고 충분히 높아야 합니다. Ordinals와 BRC-20s는 우리에게 가치저장소로서의 비트코인이 아니라 제대로 된 비트코인의 미래가 어떤 모습일지 보여주는 계기를 만들어 주었습니다. 수수료가 너무 높아 라이트닝 네트워크는 높은 수수료 환경에서 운영할 수 없기 때문에 실제로 어마어마하게 지연되었습니다. 레이저 눈 맥시들은 엘살바도르에서 모닝 커피를 구입할 수 없다는 불만으로 격하게 투덜거렸습니다. 이로 인해 비트코인 커뮤니티는 비트코인에 더 나은 확장 솔루션이 필요하다는 것을 깨달았습니다. 이것이 우리 모두가 더 나은 비트코인 L2를 구축하는 이유입니다. 또한, 우리는 더 나은 토큰 표준의 필요성을 깨달았습니다. BRC-20의 성능은 심각하게 저열하기에 이를 대체하고자 케이시가 제안한 룬이 생성되었습니다. 하지만 룬 역시 완벽하지 않습니다. 그나마 유일한 대항마인 BRC-20은 여전히 OTC 시장처럼 거래되기 때문에 거래 경험 차원에서 룬이 BRC-20보다 약간 더 나을 뿐입니다. 비유동적이고 접근하기 어렵습니다. 내가 아는 한, 이러한 단점은 대부분 비트코인 스크립트의 표현력 부족으로 인한 것입니다. 왜 @ercwl @udiWertheimer 와 같은 위자드 크루가 마법사 의상과 고양이로 역사를 만들고 있는지 궁금했던 적이 있나요? 그들은 더 나은 애플리케이션과 보안 브리지를 가능하게 할 OP_CAT를 비트코인에 다시 도입하려고 노력하고 있습니다. 이 모든 것은 씹꼰대 비트맥시들에게는 빅엿같은 말들입니다.
