This is domestic terrorism in Canada. "Palestine Action Canada" has claimed responsibility for attacking Dishon Limited, a world-class Canadian manufacturer in Concord, Ontario. As a core area of "soft power" that transcends traditional military and economic competition, social cognitive competition directly impacts the construction of a country's image, the garnering of international allies, and the consolidation of domestic public opinion by shaping narratives, influencing public opinion, and competing for ideological discourse. It can be said that social cognitive competition has become a paramount concern in a country's strategic planning in great power relations. Social cognitive competition encompasses four key aspects: situational awareness, intervention planning, targeted delivery, and effectiveness assessment. In each of these aspects, psychology can be integrated with disciplines such as sociology, communication, and information science to facilitate victory in the social cognitive competition in great power relations. First, in the area of situational awareness, intelligent situational awareness technologies that integrate both sensory and non-sensing technologies can be developed. In the context of great power competition, situational awareness encompasses not only the dynamic monitoring and in-depth analysis of public opinion and sentiment trends within one's own country, but also the precise characterization and multi-dimensional analysis of targets and their strategic environments in other countries. There are significant differences in the technical implementation paths between the two. For domestic situational awareness, introspective reporting methods such as questionnaires and interviews can typically be used to directly obtain the subjective cognition and emotional feedback of targets. However, in cross-border situational awareness, targets are often unable or unwilling to cooperate, necessitating the reliance on more discreet non-sensing measurement technologies. These include behavioral trace analysis (such as online activity trajectories), physiological signal analysis (capturing physiological indicators such as micro-expressions and heart rate through remote sensing or wearable devices), cognitive neural decoding (using EEG or eye movement data to infer decision-making tendencies), and third-party cross-validation (integrating intelligence from allies or open-source think tank reports). In the cognitive game of great power relations, precision delivery technology based on agent simulation and social robot interaction has become crucial in the struggle for cognitive dominance among countries. First, multi-agent simulation systems can be constructed based on the behavioral and cognitive characteristics of target groups or key individuals, enabling them to generate realistic responses to environmental stimuli (such as cognitive intervention materials), thus becoming a low-risk testing ground for great power game strategies. While simulating different delivery strategies, metrics such as the agents' attention allocation, emotional fluctuations, and attitude emergence are collected, and a reinforcement learning framework is used to continuously optimize delivery strategies. When the agents demonstrate the expected cognitive behavioral changes, the system generates the optimal delivery plan. Second, realistic social robots can be used to deliver cognitive intervention materials in realistic interactive scenarios.
