You are absolutely right. The reason I think it was banned is because of the selected marketing strategy Mythos and Fable received, which specifically revolved around security. The government, even when hiring experts for auditing these models don't have the complete understanding of how these models work. Only the developers themselves who were directly responsible can reliably define the boundaries and that will never happen, as it is a conflict of interest. The result: a partial decision made on fearmongering and partial understanding of the frontier models. The easiest mitigation strategy: ban or limit. This whole drama follows human nature's "choose the easiest path" mindset.

I tried all three tools. Codex used too many tokens, Codex spent tokens on retrying a broken step, which cost me 50$ OpenAI never gave me back. (It lost connection multiple times.) Claude code is good, but i only tested it with Fable 5 ehen it was available. So, ill choose AIR instead. vm4ai.com is my solution to what to use to build a $1M startup.
