@kumakurea_ agreed, but it has to be really bad for people to notice/care. so when it's just "outsourced agency" kinda of mediocre people don't notice or turn a blind eye... 🥲 and like i said i do understand fundamentally why they don't, i just wish the mentality shifted

i wish the manga (reading) community gave more attention to letterers 🥲 a lot of people don't care about lettering as long as they can read something, which means companies will cheap out with agencies that don't pay livable wages and passionate letterers lose opportunities ↓

you're paying for manga and it's not cheap in this economy, so my plea is for people to pay more attention to lettering and how big of an impact it has on the reading experience, and how hard we letterers work for everyone's enjoyment.

if readers can be on our side and be more vocal about supporting our work the same way they do with translators (rightfully so), it's a step towards showing publishers freelancers should be their first choice, and that they can't throw sand in the consumer's eyes
