Kids like Eva are studying in underground schools in #Kharkiv & #Zaporizhzhia to shelter from missiles, spending up to 10 hours a day without seeing the sun. With support from @WFP & @francediplo, schools buy vitamin D-rich foods like fish & dairy—helping children stay healthy.

What’s in a WFP food box? 🟡For communities living near the frontlines, @WFPUkraine provides food packages with wheat flour, pasta , buckwheat, sunflower oil , millet , oats and more. 🟡90% of the food distributed is bought locally to support food producers and the economy.

When food systems are robust, people can feed themselves – even amid conflict, the climate crisis, and rising costs. It's time to transform our #FoodSystems - for people, for the planet, and for our future. 👏

At the SOM for #Ukraine in Brussels. The message is clear: the humanitarian situation is concerning & needs attention + recovery efforts in parallel. Both need funding. Localisation is core to @WFP's work. We will save lives & help restore local systems as long as needed.

They love our @WFP flour! I met these two ladies today in a displacement centre in Zakarpattia, #Ukraine 🇺🇦hosting Roma families and run by partner "Blaho". @WFP distributes food to institutions to prepare hot meals for residents, focusing on the most vulnerable communities.

On this New Year’s Eve, the @UN & our partners delivered the 105th humanitarian convoy of the year to front-line communities in #Ukraine. As fighting continues unabated, we must continue to support Ukrainians this winter and into 2024. @WFP's @mfjhollingworth told us more:

Today @WFP joined an interagency convoy to deliver winter assistance to 1,700 residents of Kivsharivka. The village was cut off in autumn w/ 2 vital bridges destroyed. On #Christmas Day, this is about restoring dignity and providing a lifeline to those in need here in #Ukraine.
