In Mao's China, the primary mechanism of social control was locking all food in the government-run canteens and controlling how it was doled out. By keeping people on the edge of starvation, a threat of removing access for 3-7 days was serious punishment for the whole family, often fatal. Mamdani is building the basic fundamentals of that system in New York City now, though it won't work without walls to keep people in. These stores are the canteens themselves, and the ID access will guarantee control. Meanwhile, the stores are designed to undercut, close, and seize commercial food operations by running way below margins using taxpayer dollars to make it possible. Real options will close down while these de facto controlled canteens spread. Then the real fun begins. Mamdani's ties to the DSA are sufficient proof that he understands this strategy in the long game and is likely implementing it on purpose. Since he won't be able to build walls around NYC to keep people in, expect high taxes levied against anyone who tries to move out. (Canada is already attempting to float this approach now, btw.)

NEW: Per multiple federal sources, ICE made roughly 51,000 immigration arrests during the month of July, an average of 1,645 per day and the highest single month of arrests the agency has ever recorded. This comes after ICE made roughly 43,000 arrests in the month of June, which was record setting at the time. I understand the frustration. But I absolutely do not want Congress to turn into an inquisition body especially if ppl decide to return it back over to the politicians and bureaucrats that carried out lawfare. While some in the GOP keep telling us or in their view sounding the alarm, they need more evidence bc the media was complicit or supportive by their dismissal or refusal to report evidence of lawfare. The result unfortunately is that too many in the general public bought the media lies and alleged DOJ involvement/cover up. The DOJ/FBI had to investigate the DOJ/FBI to prove the wrongdoing. Patel and Bongino had to figure out who was involved and who could be trusted. Its a huge bureaucracy. He secured the border, reduced fentanyl deaths, reduced crime, he worked with the GOP to remove illegal aliens off Medicaid, Snap and other benefits that should go to US citizens. Trump administration is shutting down and prosecuting those committing billions in fraud. The GOP Congress and the President ended taxes on tips and overtime and on Social Security benefits for about 90% of the recipients. They enacted the Trump accounts for newborns and children to help them with long term savings as they grow up. They enhanced small business deduction & other provisions to help hiring. They repealed the Biden regulations including the green new deal mandates. They offered reinstatement to the military service members wrongfully discharged by Biden’s Democrat Administration for refusing the COVID-19 vaccine Trump and his DOJ fired the rogue FBI agents that went after Catholics and parents. Trump’s DOJ directed its Civil Rights Division and U.S. Attorneys to actively investigate local administrators who unlawfully silence or threaten parents.  Broad personnel dismissals across the Department of Justice cleared out Biden-era officials and prosecutors who were viewed as aligned with prior policies targeting conservative groups and parental activists. For workers- Trump expanded federal Pell Grant eligibility (which traditionally only applied to two-year or four-year degree programs) to cover short-term, high-skill workforce programs lasting as little as 8 weeks. This helps students pursuing trade credentials—such as HVAC, welding, electrical work, plumbing, construction, and manufacturing—to use federal grant money to pay for their tuition and training. The Trump Admin stopped the discrimination in Colleges and actively banned federal contractors from engaging in DEI practices. Another Executive Order that made a huge difference President Trump signed E.O. 14201 ("Keeping Men Out of Women's Sports") on February 5, 2025. This order directed the Department of Education to enforce Title IX under biological definitions and threatened to withhold federal funds from schools or universities that allow biological males on female athletic teams. Following the E.O., major athletics governing bodies—including the NCAA—updated their policies to restrict women's college competitions solely to athletes assigned female at birth. Over half of U.S. states have passed state-level statutory bans restricting biological males from participating in K-12 and collegiate female sports teams. This is only some of the major changes. So, I respectfully disagree that Trump doesn’t care or that the GOP has done nothing. I hope you will reconsider your opinion and question the motives of the sources convincing ppl to sit out the election.

The Washington Post editorial board accuses me of a conflict of interest that might bias me against Big Pharma, whose interests they apparently seek to protect. The alleged conflict comes from money I supposedly made from a settlement in a lawsuit against Merck for injuries caused by its Gardasil vaccine. The problem is that I never received a penny from the Merck Gardasil settlement, and neither has my son nor anyone else in my family. Before taking office, I relinquished any interest in potential Gardasil fees back to the Wisner Baum law firm, which publicly confirmed this during my confirmation process. Yet @SenWarren, @Reuters, and @washingtonpost editorial board — in their ardor to protect Big Pharma — continue to push a false narrative that makes Big Pharma the victim and me the mendacious villain. They should correct the record — and spend more time examining the real conflicts that have long disabled the regulatory function of my Department, all of which I am now deconstructing. I’m firing corrupt regulators and dismissing the panels formerly populated by heavily conflicted “experts.” We are dismantling the mechanisms of corporate capture that made this agency the sock puppet for the industry it was supposed to regulate. Why are Reuters, Warren, and WaPo inventing lies to besmirch the first @HHSgov Secretary in modern history to stand up to industry?
