This is INSANE interference by the Irish government in the lives of stay at home mothers. But it makes sense when you understand that women were sold a lie to get them out into the workforce to pay tax, which lowered standards of living and wages overall, and has led to generations of children being raised by strangers in creches who are paid minimum wage, are overworked and are sometimes under qualified. One staff member could be looking after up to 18 or 19 children. The Irish government actually says this is good for your child. Better than the parenting and care you could provide. It is a lie. What was also a lie was that working would raise your standard of living. How has it done that? Show me proof. Families are now working two jobs and have nothing to show for it. Not even a home. Furthermore, we are raising a generation of children who will have attachment issues (see JohnBowlby and Mary Ainsworth) and interpersonal troubles as a result of little time with their parents (mothers particularly) during vitally inportant early stages of development. Which is distastrous for society overall, and a very sad outcome for these children. However it is in my view exactly what is the desired outcome: to create lost people who don't have a stong sense of self or connection to themselves or others. People like this are less well adjusted overall and are easier to manipulate (making good global citizens, pawns and workhorses). Btw it is not MISOGYNISTIC to say "mothers particularly". It is science! Physiologically there are changes that occur in babies when they are removed from their mother. It causes stress that can have a lifelong impact. I would say not seeing and being held and cuddled by your mother day in and day out has an effect. That is NOT to make any mother feel bad. I know you do your best. But for all this you have to hand over your hard earned cash that you have just earned to pay the childcare provider and your child is a practial stranger. Who you don't see Monday to Friday except at frantic bedtimes. Even breakfast is usually missed (as a family). There's no judgement from me if this is what people have to do. But if you want to stay at home and raise your children you ought to be supported to do so. You should not be shamed and belittled and have national strategies launched at you by a haughty and corrupt government who work for tech giants billionaires interests as well as others that don't serve you and aren't loyal to you. Remember the government tried to remove protections for women that were enshrined in our constitution (but are not honoured). The nation rejected that attempt to demote mothers who raise the next generation of taxpayers. But, despite that the government is doing this (see below).
