I fully respect and support the trades. I have no quarrel with them making an honest profit for an honest amount of work. However, I feel like these pricing structures are completely ridiculous and are taking advantage of unaware consumers.

As an example, the plumber told me that the tailpiece which connects from the sink strainer to the trap below would cost $460. I purchased and installed the equivalent part in Home Depot for $11.97.

In another DIY victory, today I repaired the drain on our kitchen sink for approximately $40 worth of parts and about 30 minutes worth of my time. I had a plumber take a look earlier in the week and give me a quote, which was just over $1,000. Why? Because "That's the price*

Hey @SOMPatriots, not sure when the ticketing system was updated but it's a definite downgrade. Clunky, poorly designed screens. Looping authentication requests. Multiple forced password resets. The simple process of buying a ticket to 20 minutes.

@EdLudlow I think it has far more to do with maintaining a quiet atmosphere in the cabin, rather than any possibility of interference from your phone with the instrumentation. The fact that the use of inflight Wi-Fi has been widely permitted and encouraged for years seems to support that.

@TheKanehB @RealDutchsinse Nextel as a brand specifically used proprietary hardware license from Motorola. No other company could generate the exact same products since they could not get access to the hardware. Today that is not the case as voice over IP applications can mimic the functionality.
