Started a water filtration business 5 weeks ago. $60K under contract. July alone should land between $60-75K. I've never installed one of these. I'm not a plumber. Before June 8th I couldn't have told you what a water softener does. Why this business: There are two kinds of operators in filtration. Mom-and-pops who don't advertise at all. And huge companies that advertise badly and charge insane prices. Nobody in the middle. Doing decent marketing at a fair price is the entire strategy. That's it. That's the wedge. First deal came off $50 of ad spend. Static image on Meta. One call, closed. Installed two days later. $3,100 ticket, $1,300 to me after the sub and materials. The part I got wrong: I sold it the way I sell everything — outcomes. Healthier water for your family, protect your appliances, all that. It bombed. Nobody buys this on outcomes. They want to know what's actually in their water and what your system does about it. Specifically. In their house. So I went and learned it. YouTube, some coursework, four weeks. Now I can have the technical conversation and the whole thing closes itself. Four weeks. Everyone assumes the bar to enter a trade business is becoming a tradesman. The bar is knowing enough to sell the product. Those aren't remotely the same bar and one of them takes a month.

The thing is are they following Google's guidelines like this one: Service Area Boundaries: If (SAB), ensure your second profile is well outside your first location’s radius (usually a ~2-hour drive or completely non-overlapping metro areas)
