Currently, I'm building the front-end visualization for the fruit-fly society system that already lives on-chain. As a first step, I'm doing two layers. 🔴Layer 1 · Social Clustering Physics — the MVP core Build an undirected graph from econSocial.bonds (take the larger of the two directional values; keep edges with score ≥ a threshold, e.g. 0.25), and run connected components to get several "colonies." Each colony is assigned an anchor via a deterministic hash of its id (FNV) — scattered across the active area of the canvas, and stable (no jitter) between polls. In the boids update, add a pro-social force: members are weakly pulled toward their own colony's anchor and toward high-score partners; between bitter-rival pairs with score ≤ −0.6, add a repulsion force. Keep all these strengths very weak, so the existing flow field / separation still dominates at short range — this avoids a stiff, "clumped-up" look. Effect: allied flies spontaneously gather into visible colonies, while sworn enemies are pushed to opposite ends. 🔴Layer 2 · Territories and Relationship Lines Draw a ring of semi-transparent territory glow around each colony (a convex hull, or a radial gradient from the anchor), tinted by the colony's color; label the largest few with names. Between strong-bond pairs, draw thin gold lines; between grudge pairs, draw red dashed rifts — consuming bonds[] / grudges[] directly.

Shipped an audit of our self-driving fly-swarm economy. Green across the board — and one real bug buried under the green.We put every module through a full pass: 298 tests, typecheck, front-end syntax gate. All green. But "all green" only proves the tests you wrote — so we read the three newest layers line by line, code the suite never exercised.That's where the money was. The IOU ledger. When a fly made a partial repayment, we rewrote the note's principal field to "what's still owed" — which quietly folded accrued interest into principal. Next tick, interest charged interest: compounding we never intended. Worse, the debt figure that gates the credit cap and the default check read that same field — so a fly honestly paying down interest alone could be pushed into a phantom default.The fix keeps principal pure: settle interest first, shave principal second. Zero-rate notes stay byte-for-byte identical, so nothing that ever worked stops working. Then a regression test built specifically to fail on the old code — aged non-zero-rate note, thin wallet, assertions that principal and book-debt never exceed the original. Two quieter catches: a misleading TTL comment that invited a future "fix" into a real bug, and a redundant storage read on every population poll. Guard rails held the whole way: the brain is never written, no key-version bump, everything additive and switch-gated, no minting — conservation intact.
