Macky is about to be welcomed at the Palace with honors today (if not already) THIS HURTS! Some make this about the law, the fact that he has not even been indicted, let alone proven guilty of anything. Some make this about the lack of desire, from all parties involved, to hold the man accountable for how he presided over our country during its darkest moments. I say this: Out of respect for the victims, we cannot and should not have this debate right now. Let’s have it later. Today, the specific topic should be about coming together with one voice to tell @PR_Diomaye: Mr President, you have failed the victims. Those you used in your talk shows and political rallies. Those you refused to meet. Those you snubbed as they were being celebrated. Mr President, In welcoming this man back at OUR palace with honors, you have shown that we cannot trust you to do what is best for us, to be true to your own words. Mr President, you have crossed a line, it’s bad! But, there is still something you can do to save face: Don’t endorse this man for the UN SG Job. He has not demonstrated he abides by the UN charter. Under his presidency, Human Rights were mocked, democracy ridiculed, freedom of speech clamped, and good governance took a day off. Why would anyone endorse such a resume? If anyone is pressuring you to do this, this is your chance to show what side you are on. Mr President, please watch this see the faces of these victims and remember them as you make a decision.
