@paulallchorne @jbhearn Everyone pays a little more. I'm talking about 1/24% more income tax paid monthly. Rich also get hit with a small wealth tax. Working people will love that. The rich tax will only affect their great great grand kids.

@paulallchorne @jbhearn Nobody is forced to do anything. If you want a check you have to work (unless disabled). There are many many things to do. Folks can be funneled to what they are best suited for and whats needed.

@paulallchorne @jbhearn More tax will only kick in if inflation rises above a certain level for say 3 months in a row. And it will hit the rich the hardest. Inflation cooled off quickly. Both the JG and the ATMT are the ultimate automatic stabilizers.

@paulallchorne @jbhearn 1/ Its a policy that will work. Inflation - essentially nonexistent. Unemployment - nightmare relived in the history books. Private sector - can do its thing. But probably have to pay workers above the JG minimum. Workers want - reliable well paid work.

@paulallchorne @jbhearn The necessity and support for trade unions would dwindle in an economy where there is a Job Gty and an ATMT. Trade unions are about THEIR wages. Not about a general institution to lif working class wages. With a Job Gty, support for unions would dwindle.

@paulallchorne @jbhearn 2/ will cool things off quickly, so prices won't necessarily be passed on. Moreover, the taxes can also be imposed on high income and wealth folks, reducing the money supply, cooling off inflation.

@paulallchorne @jbhearn 1/ Depends on what's causing price inflation. If its say a global oil price pop, without a job Gty you get either debilitating inflation or a recession. With JG/ATMT, the JG wage can be increased by law putting upward pressure on all wages - offsetting inflation, and taxes

@paulallchorne @jbhearn Yes. But a Job Gty changes life. It eliminates a source of anxiety and risk from working people. JG is not a substitute for a better paying, upwardly mobile private sector job but it can be an excellent safety net for many. So ATMT comes with a JG as a package deal.
