@gewittrderrosen Zorthian was a Time-Life cable executive at the time HBO was founded, but did not found HBO. It was founded by Chuck Dolan with some backing from Time-Life Cable, and later became a Time Inc. and Time Warner division. (I worked at HBO for 5.84 years.)

For 25 years we've given away archival film footage at archive.org/details/prelin…. Our images are in uncountable films and videos and play worldwide. And AI video models crawl them. If we kept some of our footage offline, would it be fresher, less likely to be cloned? Just asking.
